but she appreciated the honesty
attack ads are shameful and disgusting and done by shameless companies with no respect for other businesses
microsoft has done it to google, apple has done it to microsoft, people do it all the time and it's terrible and it makes me angry to consider that it's completely legal
To be fair, a lot of big name companies compete in a friendly manner moreso than not. A lot of the things like PC vs Mac were definitely made with that friendly notion in mind. If I remember right, Microsoft retaliated to them with very similar ads?
This doesn't even seem like it's paid off because the dude mentions both Office and iTunes. It seems like someone who genuinely buys into this "scroogled" shit and decided he'd act as some prophet of the truth.
I hate Chromebooks. There's no reason for its existence, it's a netbook, it uses an operating system nobody uses, and if what people are saying is true, they're useless when not connected to the Internet.
Also how could you trust a computer with advertising like this:

I have a high end PC, it doesn't have office
I should install a non windows OS on it
it wouldn't be a real laptop then

I think it should be legal. But I find it insanely stupid.
"Hey, instead of advertising our product, let's bash the competition and hope people buy our stuff instead"
It's like patent whoring. But is less effective and makes you look like a dick.
Interesting snippet regarding the scroogled ads:
Rapidly losing respect for Microsoft. Here's some more shit they pulled:
http://www.keepyouremailprivate.com/HowTheyDoIt
What they don't realize is that this:

is actually more helpful than spewing viagra adverts. And they act as if the robots that go through your GMail have feelings or emotions - they benefit both the end user and the advertiser, and Microsoft just skews it to make it sound like a bad thing. Oh then there's the whole http://www.bingiton.com/ which 9/10 times Google wins
Doesn't matter. If someone doesn't want their information tracked it doesn't matter why. They don't want their information tracked and that's the end of discussion.
The chromebook is actually a piece of shit tho'
I love how scroogled.com is covered in ads for Windows laptops.

I don't watch the show, but why is it stupid to ask for this, is there not a chance a pawn shop might have it?
[t]http://i.imgur.com/VY2xE.jpg[/t]
I seeeeeee.
That is some funny shit. Never liked the attitude of this guy (or most American tv in general) from the few episodes I have seen, especially considering this Microsoft advert business. Stooping real low.
I know that the show is scripted, but I like it, it's mindless fun.
Cajun Pawn Stars however, sucks dick.

Vista was mentioned all the time.
I'm actually surprised they mentioned iTunes (Apple software).

Thanks Microsoft, that clears it up.
As always, Microsoft making other companies look bad by making up things that are not true about them. They're never gonna learn, are they? :v:

Come to bing, if you search for proteins, we give you clouds!
she's really pretty
It really shows how classy they are when they use the no true Scotsman.

I think it's nice that Google shows ads based on what I search for.
Also, this comes to mind.

So Bing looks like Google from 2005 only now with Facebook?

Well I can make out "Chromebook." Maybe I should get one?

I think the only reason that was okay was because they never stapled "Microsoft" to the PC.
Same, reminds me of the classic nintendo vs sega ads
http://www.scroogled.com/chromebook
One of the buttons is ''Chromebook can'ts'', sounds familiar :v:

I always felt those had more of a playful/humorous air about them. Mostly making fun of stereotypes, I mean just look at the picture itself. Those (as far as I can recall) were never as blatantly shitting on PCs as some adverts today (MS, Nokia).
uh the chromebook is really a decent laptop for its intended use?
just because something doesn't fit with how you want it to be doesn't mean it's a bad laptop. have you done any research on it at all or are you just tossing shitty peanuts from the peanut gallery?
[editline]29th November 2013[/editline]
it was designed for use without a hard drive. obviously if you need a hard drive you wouldn't buy a chromebook.
