uh the chromebook is really a decent laptop for its intended use? just because something doesn't fit with how you want it to be doesn't mean it's a bad laptop. have you done any research on it at all or are you just tossing shitty peanuts from the peanut gallery? [editline]29th November 2013[/editline] it was designed for use without a hard drive. obviously if you need a hard drive you wouldn't buy a chromebook.
It works fine with the builtin harddrive though, and for local storage of large data files, one could replace the SSD or plug in an external harddrive (later is probably cheapest). What Chrome OS basically is, is a Gentoo-based system, so you could easily run any Linux application on it, with little to no modification to the actual system.

[editline]30th November 2013[/editline]
Doesn't matter. If someone doesn't want their information tracked it doesn't matter why. They don't want their information tracked and that's the end of discussion.
If you don't want your information tracked, you're going to want to drop the "cloud" thing entirely.
Isn't it just a laptop with different software? You can install Ubuntu on it, which has its own office program thingy, so that kinda makes this ad pointless.
this is fucking hilarious considering microsoft does pretty much, maybe more datamining than google what a pointless ad

I have the Samsung Chromebook and it's perfect as a secondary computer. It does the basic shit I need for classes and it runs decently fast for a $250 laptop. Yeah, it has some drawbacks and isn't the greatest quality, but if you're really integrated into Google stuff and you need something decent for cheap it does that pretty well. Just my 2 cents.
not real? nah, I can install linux on it and run programs quite well. if by some chance you get intel gma950, gimme a ring. I have modded drivers that can save your ass and let you do so much more with it than previously thought.
God this is cringe-worthy.
You should try watching the entirely scripted show.

I got the new Acer Chromebook last week, it's really nice for the price. I don't know of a Windows laptop that can run source games at 60FPS, have 7 hours of battery life and be £200. [editline]30th November 2013[/editline] Also it charges insanely fast
I doubt many Mac users know what L/unix is.
"Hurr durr Mac users know nothing about computers..?" What even persuades you to say this?
