I used to have those two half-hour long E3 demos burned on DVD's. Back then I liked to go to sleep with the TV on, and those were my choice most nights.
I managed to find all of my old hl2 e3 vids. They're the exact same ones played out in the exact same way as they were at e3 except they're recorded from ingame instead of with a camera.

I remember I spent a week tracking down that bug with the magnifying lamp!
The code that initialized the frame buffer didn't work properly on newer nVidia cards. Oh how I miss the beta and fixing all of the buggy glory
I remember finding the disc containing the demo videos of HL2 2003 in my Condition Zero-case.
It all looked so beautiful.

Ahh... so nostalgic.
I remember first booting the game, I'd never seen such accurate physics. The first thing I did was fill the trash cans with random crap I found on the ground. Then Gmod came around and my physics orgasm was complete.
Makes me want Episode 3/Half Life 3 even more. I really do hope Valve isn't procrastinating or anything seeing as how many projects they've had over the past few years.

I think they are "secretly" working on Half Life 3. When HL2 came out, it was mindblowing. Imagine Valve achieve that with HL3. Probably Source Engine 2 or even some new engine.
It makes me really depressed to read about, and see all the locations that were originally going to be in the game.

The storyline, and the post apocalyptic and polluted city 17 sounded so much better, with citizens forced to wear gas-masks to survive and everything.

I think we can all agree here and say the guy who leaked the beta was a huge asshole for pushing Valve to shorten the game and make it less perfect than what it could have been.
But since the beta is here now, where can I download it ?
Always speculated why they cant progress to EP3.
They must have had a problem on how to kill the advisor's cause on how you cant even attack them cause of the advisor's physic power.
Or they had a problem where the borealis would be even if it teleported directly to an iceberg.
The original story line still intrigues me a bit.
