You're missing proper sentence coherence. I misunderstood you because you didn't put an "and" there. Still I what I don't get is how he didn't get the point of my post.
first explain why they hinder humanity and why taking them out would help.
lets say that videogames could just as easily be replaced with something that is just as fun to the videogame player but more helpful then i would tell videogame players to do that
People have died due to video game addiction. If you spent the time playing video games on exercising instead you can have a much healthier lifestyle. Playing sports with your friends can be just as fun as playing video games, and it's beneficial to your body. Video games also cost money, and sometimes you end up with bad ones that aren't worth their price in the slightest.

There was no "and" intended, it was a question, followed by a supplementary question.
Try: South Africa? Are you fucking retarded?
It made perfect sense. Converting third world countries doesn't help shit, Israel (Jews) have been fighting with Muslims for years over some stupid bullshit called "The Holy Land" (you know, that thing The Crusades were about?)
You're addressing two separate points. Without the "and" it sounded like you didn't understand basic geography. My mistake.

the reason for videogames is to have people have fun, the reason for religion is so people will not go to hell. if religion is false then there whole thing is a waste while video games are not because they are still fun

You attack my lack of a conjunction (where it is not necessary in any case), when you're making a grammatical error in every one of your posts. Not to mention you didn't even catch the only real error I made in that sentence:
It made perfect sense. Converting third world countries doesn't help shit, Israel (Jews) have been fighting with Muslims for years over some stupid bullshit called "The Holy Land" (you know, that thing The Crusades were about?).

It made perfect sense. Converting third world countries doesn't help shit, Israel (Jews) has been fighting with Muslims for years over some stupid bullshit called "The Holy Land" (you know, that thing The Crusades were about?).
Now, stop arguing about something irrelevant to the initial argument.
I was unaware the Crusades took place in mid/south Africa.
Now, you said something about me not knowing "basic geography", while in this sentence, it's made blatant that you obviously don't have a grasp on either History or Geography:

Find Israel, and proceed to argue that it is located somewhere in "mid/south Africa", noting that I never mentioned Africa at all, but I did make a crass generalization and assumed you had already passed your 8th grade Social Studies and 3rd grade English classes. My apologies.

I still don't know where you got the south africa from.
People have died due to video game addiction.
But it's nothing compared to people who have died due to religion.
But it's nothing compared to people who have died due to religion.
Around MAYBE 20 people have died from something related to video games (cause of death is not "OD on videyagamez", hint hint).
Billions have died under the banner of religious institution.

Well hell doesn't exist so why should you care what they believe?
Religion is about faith that there is a God that affects everyday happenings, rather than looking at scientific reasoning or relying on sheer luck. While I would rather have more interest in science, I'm not going to persecute religion/the religious because I think they're "wrong". Even if science is "right", then going after what someone for what they believe in just because it doesn't coincide with what you believe is still morally wrong for me, not to mention hypocritical as I dislike religious nutjobs and "Bible bashers".
I could care less about them being "ignorant". With the zeal we use to go at disproving religion, why can't we use the same for just supporting the sciences? Why hate when we can learn and love?

You're side stepping the point. I'm not saying video games are as bad as religion, I'm saying that there are video games are not good for us, and that fun can be provided in healthier ways. Yet I still play video games even though I know what it does to me because I'm human, and humans aren't perfect.

You mean the religious nutjobs and Bible bashers? I have tons of religious friends who are fine with gays and are interested in science.
[editline]28th November 2010[/editline]
And my mom doesn't believe in a god but finds gays marrying as "wrong".

Is it so wrong that I want people to believe what is right? I dont want to force them into it but i know that smarter people make better progress and i know that religion is a meme that gets in the way of that
I still don't know where you got the south africa from.
I'm not referring to the country, I"m referring to the central and lower portion of Africa, the majority of which is also known as "the Third World".
Well hell doesn't exist so why should you care what they believe?
Cause bible isn't one page long and doesn't only say "God is real, hell is real. Praise me, fear me and you'll go to heaven." It's kinda longer than that. And full of shit which causes hate.

If someone believes that earth is flat or anything else which is contrary to reality, he should be informed about his incorrect understanding. This is how progress works. Doesn't matter to me if someone believes in deity as long as they accept scientific facts.

He said "third world countries". You need to do some research on that.

But the guy in the video IS trying to force it onto them. As I stated before I would rather have more interest in the sciences but this guy is wasting his energy on not only trying to push down a brick wall but it's energy that could be used for more positive things.

Hate which I'm not supporting in the slightest. Not all religious people support that hate as well.

The only ones who won't accept scientific facts are again, nutjobs. Of course, they're only a minority, but they're still the loudest.

He didn't have to go out and research to make that video, yet it would have been much better if the cut it at 5 minutes. He's a good orator, but I don't agree with his videos' messages.
Well hell doesn't exist so why should you care what they believe?

That's not the point. Of course we care what others believe, because we all effect one another.
No, it's not.

Moving from not understanding Geography or History to not understanding the basic principles of Science.

Science is right. No quotations because it's not subjective, Science is factual information, not guessing games or bedtime stories. Furthermore, it's not about persecuting someone for their beliefs, it's about standing against a system that generates everything that is wrong in the world. You can refer to my previous lists, and I can cite historic and biblical references if you'd like. However, your mention of morality coaxes me to state mine; I find it ethically wrong to ally with a system that preaches ideologies like false hope, mistrust, ignorance, bigotry, and many other things that result in the ballast of society. My problem is not with people's belief in god, my problem is with Religion, all Religions and how they destroy the very progress we hope to achieve as a planet.
I could care less about them being "ignorant". With the zeal we use to go at disproving religion, why can't we use the same for just supporting the sciences? Why hate when we can learn and love?
Because you can't learn if you're ignorant, that's self-contradicting, and we don't NEED to "support" sciences, they do that on their own. In-fact, the battle is fought the other way around. Religion has been battling science for ages, and it's fucking stupid. Witch trials, hangings, beheadings, stonings... All under the banner of religion against the "heresy" that is Science. I mean, only just in the last month has the pope FINALLY allowed Condoms (previously he spread lies and slander that condoms cause STD's and AIDS and are unholy and all this utter nonsense). I'd love for everyone to get along, for everyone to "learn and love", but that won't happen with religion binding and blinding society, and THAT is why I cannot tolerate the stupidity and hypocrisy of religion; Because I support crazy ideals like peace, love, equality, fairness, and justice. Good night to you, sir.
He said "third world countries". You need to do some research on that.
I'm sorry, the Third World isn't made up of third world countries?

Well, it's 3 AM here. I have better things to do than argue on the Internet.
I'm a proud Atheist and I'm all for bashing any religion with beliefs that can't be proven. When I say bash religion, I don't mean bashing the poor brainwashed people paying 10% of their income to their religious church, I mean bashing the leaders that get that 10%. It reeks of a scam, separates human beings by different religions and worst of all, influences other people's lives. How? Because American Christians don't like gay people having the ability to marry, so they vote against it or the government simply folds under pressure. That means somewhere in America, a gay couple can't get married simply because of other's opinion. It literally also causes death, by the Pope telling Africans not to use condoms to prevent the spread and infection of AIDS or Muslims flying planes into buildings.
You find Atheists bashing religions the same as religions bashing other religions? Fine. But that doesn't refute the points they make.
I liked the part when I realized my jaw has been dropped for 15 minutes.
great thread, but incoming atheists who think they are edgy for supporting religion and making broad justifications about faith
Because they stop gay from marring and because they impede scientific progress also I like helping people
Oh, about that.. 50 years from now we'll look back and realize how horrible we were not letting gays marry.
Just like the slaves, or interracial couples.
Love this video.
Love this video.
Watch all his other videos, not as epic, but still amazing.
Bump for inspiration.
Bump for inspiration.
shameless but whatever

but still pretty awesome
I dont really see whats wrong with religion.
I dont really see whats wrong for being an atheist.
Cant we just be friends?
Pretty awe inspiring if you just think about what could be out there, what could be happening and how big it actual is, how super massive it is.
It's pretty cool and know that we have been around for all our years, yet we haven't even managed to get out of this solar system, we can't hear, smell, feel what ever is out there only spectate, hopefully the future will expand on this.
