I tried it, it's good but it has a lot of glitches and crashes and can be unstable. Also is it just me or the graphics look a lot better in that trailer?
I found the flood to be somewhat unfun and repetitive, moreso than in the original, especially since infection forms seem to be a lot harder to destroy and theres a shitload more of them, and those new jackal flood forms are absolutely horrible, they are annjoying as hell and their voice has a higher volume than everything else. They also nerfed the shotgun so it holds less ammo and i seem to be able to find less shotguns/shotgun ammo in general on the levels. The banshee's cannon seem to do a lot less damage, smaller enemies such as grunts and jackals can survive a hit dead on, while enemies especially grunts in turrets seem to not take any damage from it. Wraiths and other vehicles take forever to destroy on Noble difficulty. Meanwhile that new falcon is extremely, really fucking OP. Oh and that chaingun thing looks absolutely horrible and doesn't fit the game at all.
I completed Keyes on Noble and there didn't seem to be any extra segments added to the level that i've noticed and they also nerfed the end part, there seem to be a lot less enemies present.
Also a lot of times when playing, the enemies behind me would instantly despawn if i accidently triggered the loading of the next part of the level which could become annjoying. Weapons dropped by enemies also seem to dissapear a lot quicker.
I don't agree with all their design changes (like extending some levels so much) and the art is kind of inconsistent with the level detail but it's nice to have something like this for a new halo experience.
And 60 fps halo sounds incredible, ever since playing the shitty port of halo 2 on PC i really hated going back to 30 fps animations in halo 1, and uninterpolated 60 fps just made the game look terrible and jittery.
The interpolation is fucking amazing, not gonna lie.
On the easiest difficulty the covenant NPC's are fucking invincible, there's HOARDS of them, and there's little to no ammo laying around
Whoever was in charge of this was a moron, they're completely ruined the flow of Halo

Only level I found hard so far is Truth and Reconciliation.
To be fair, Halo 1 was done by a studio of 50~ of barely-out-of-college fresh faces with some shipped exclusive titles for an anemic platform in a time when the gaming industry was still perceived as a small branch of the toy industry.
Not to defend some of the ugly shit in spv3 ofc. We were ameteurs. It was a long time ago. Some of the assets in this release are almost a decade old. Ok, well, 6 years max.
Even though I've settled professionally into visual effects for now, I still work on similar projects to spv3 like installation01 as a hobby. One of the modelers on spv3 (I believe he did the pistol and the warthog?) now works at CD project red and did a meaty amount of work on The Witcher 3.
Amateur projects are still a rung in the ladder. Don't undermine their importance.
Those "50~ of barely-out-of-college fresh faces" created a ground breaking game that was known all around the world and yet these amateur believe they can "make a better game" buy just editing existing work not done by them :v:
This would be, for the lack of a better example: taking a famous painting, painting over it with crayons and claiming I'm a better artist. My work required no original thought, no creativity, just stolen ideas and arrogance.
I enjoy the SPV campaigns just not that train of thought. I look forward to playing SPV3
That wasn't the train of thought, though. At least, most of the people on the team.

Two Betrayals and Keys were a massive pain. The lack of ammo and how quick the brute weapons can knock your shields out is insane.
Well, so far i'm at the mission Truth & Reconciliation, playing on the easiest difficulty, i still struggle at moments where there is a massive horde of covenant. And the ODST guys are already dead when i enter in the covenant hangar bay. :v:
So far, for the issues i've heard and seen is that some sounds i hear will make a popping noise here and there. Like they replaced it with new sounds, but cuts off at the end with a loud pop. Also, at the first level when you meet captain keyes, their voices are insanely loud for some reason, and that actually wasn't really great. About the new weapons, they are nice, but some of them are a bit too much changed. Like the assault rifle that now shoots 32 rounds instead of 64 and shoots slower. these changed weapons take some time getting used to, i guess.
I think some things shouldn't be touched, like the "vanilla" skybox version from halo. Because i liked that skybox way better. Because at the second level: "Halo" the sky is all cloudy.
And lastly, what about skulls and stuff? I first played a higher difficulty where you somehow gets blurred when getting shot at. At first i was like: Is this normal? So then i played the easiest difficulty the blurry vision was gone.
So in other words, when playing at higher difficulty = Active skulls? And how can you customize skulls? Or how to find them? I can check at every level about skulls & Info in the menu, but no idea how that works.
I wish they didn't go with the reach shotgun, the older one was so classic looking
