I've got this nendoroid and a kirby one, they're great. Being able to pose them with different faces and accesoires is real fun (especially the kirby one since it uses magnets).
The only Funko pop I'd buy is the D.va one.

People hate Funko because most of the ones they put out are ugly and lifeless

It's objectively shit taste. They're the equivalent of a trashy college kid with a poorly done Monster tattoo on his neck compared to someone who spent a few hundred dollars on a nice looking color tat on their shoulder.
