I preferred Doug's older review
Was that KSP music at the beginning ? [editline]30th May 2013[/editline] Hot damn the TMZ moments were annoying. We got it, you don't like that show, stop giving it publicity.

On firefox how do you get there? tools adblock plus options doesnt work
A pretty good review.
God the TmZ parts are shit. Just continue with the review already.
While I felt the TMZ parts were out of place and there for the sake of bashing on it, the ending really got me chuckling like a little girl.
Was I the only one who actually liked the TMZ bits?
They were alright, they just go on a bit too long.
I still haven't decided if you guys like this guy or not, it's always hit and miss on facepunch. His review of The Cat in The Hat wasn't bad, though.
Was I the only one who actually liked the TMZ bits?
I've only just learned what TMZ is thanks to that review. Never heard of it here in the UK.
I watched the movie on TV in like 2005 and I liked it. What the fuck is wrong with me, right guys?
-Bottom line it was a decent review-
It's not when you fuck it up with irrelevant shit.
I didn't find the movie bad when I saw it in theaters, but I understand how you it could strike a nerve in people. oh I think it's a oscar winning great movie when you compare it to transformers..........
While I felt the TMZ parts were out of place and there for the sake of bashing on it, the ending really got me chuckling like a little girl.
It feels like it should have been brought up like three times max. Instead they had to keep on repeating the same joke too many times, ruining it pretty hard too when they just dropped the ball completely and mimicked animals (if you're acting and you have to rely on mimicking animals to show how stupid your target is, then you are very likely worse than them). It's as shame though because the idea was pretty fun at first. To be honest, I'm enjoying the actual acting parts so far because they actually serve some sort of point, and are more than just NC shooting a fake gun and yelling. It still looks like he doesn't know where to stop though, as shown by the TMZ parts and some portions of the Catwoman review.
I still haven't decided if you guys like this guy or not, it's always hit and miss on facepunch. His review of The Cat in The Hat wasn't bad, though.
his reviews are hit and miss thats the issue, like his recent review on Jurassic Park was god awful
still think he should have used the style of kubric to convey the hate for TMZ, TMZ is fast paced with quick camera takes and if you had the same stories put into the same structure of kubric it would fit better.
Was I the only one who actually liked the TMZ bits?
The first time was humorous, but them being constant caused them to be a stale, annoying gag.
Kid got fat....
i like how his body grew but his face didn't
his reviews are hit and miss thats the issue, like his recent review on Jurassic Park was god awful
Awful? Wouldn't say that. Unnecessary? Certainly. I find it weird. Doug once mentioned about how comedy is about timing and he even hammered on about it for a bit. And yet he always carries on his jokes for too long.
wow uh that intro both the TMZ segment and the intro sequence is sorta everything wrong with the nostalgia critic all condensed in to one handy clip isn't it how long has that been there?
I thought this video was really well done. This guy has suffered at the hands of his critics literally every single time he puts something out now, since a falter in his format however long ago. It's nice to see he can still do what he does without losing spirit in the face of a fan base that thinks it owns him.
The reason most of his comedy feels forced is because he's not all that good at comedy to begin with.
The reason most of his comedy feels forced is because he's not all that good at comedy to begin with.
To begin with? Have you even watched his pre-decline stuff?
To begin with? Have you even watched his pre-decline stuff?
I enjoy his old stuff. Heck, watch the first 50 seconds of this. His speech pattern, style, and pacing is very different from what he does now.
To begin with? Have you even watched his pre-decline stuff?
I have. I have no problems with it. I was generalizing. My bad.
he's not overacting as much. as his fanbase grew he realized he could do whatever stupid shit he wanted and the fans would love it
That's a bit harsh. I think he ended up listening to his loudest and/or dumbest fans. When Batman & Robin, a review based around him repeatedly and loudly losing his mind and trying to kill himself in hilarious ways, became a runaway success he began implementing more and more "freakouts" into his reviews. If you listen to some of the commentaries Doug mentions how "people seem to really like these" whenever the Critic goes ballistic; he also mentions that people at cons say things to him like "Bat-credit-card!" to see him react.
