So is it a bomb or are they making profit from the game?
I'm just hoping it bombs so fucking hard they wake up from this fever dream

Hey, Tali's was top tier and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise!

Liara's was great too.
honestly, people are remembering every mass effect game way too fondly

Oh yeah, they were crap then and are crap now by the looks of this.
Why would you want to contiinue this thrend however?

I'm not saying we should continue it
I'm just annoyed by nostalgia vision

Oh shit, are we fighting now?
That was legit pretty good and funny, but you'd only have scenes like this in ME3. The first 2 games took themselves more seriously.
I think the worst part is that this scene could of been decent and even funny if they didn't talk like fucking robots.

I played through the series a month ago in anticipation, and I know alot of other people did too. Not blinded by nostalgia here. The first mass effect has better animation then this and it's just sad.

So did I
It's not all roses
Yeah this games faces are garbage but it's not like there wasn't plenty of that before
I dont know, the dialogue itself was pretty cringey aswell.
i love how the salarian is completely frozen except for just the lips due to the shit game animations, it's like the scene unfolding made him cringe so hard his spine gave up

The original trilogy had its problems, but it wasn't anywhere near as bad as this. I could defend ME3 back in the day, because, except for the ending it was a damn good game in every other regard, it had the best gameplay of the entire series, it gave a decent closure for the genophage and geth/quarian subplots, and gathering allies all across the galaxy for the final battle on Earth actually felt like an epic adventure. I can't defend Andromeda, however. It has redeeming qualities like very good visuals, but what's the point of good visuals when the writing and animations are atrocious?

Not even remotely true. ME3 was filled with complete garbage from top to bottom, from non-existent side quests, to low quality assets, to ridiculous story contrivances. Mass Effect 3's ending is the worst ending to anything I've ever seen, Extended Cut and Leviathan included.
Mass Effect 3 was brutalised by it's miniscule development time and the fact that key people from previous games moved on to work on concurrent projects for Bioware. As the most expansive game in the trilogy it needed the longest development cycle but it got the shortest, and it shows.

Sure
but it's full of bad decision, rushed choices, rushed design, and it takes massive, massive fucking steps backwards in writing quality.
People remember it through rose tinted goggles. It had, and has, so many problems. The whole series did. Everything Bioware ever made does since Kotor for christs sakes.

The game is seriously not that bad, and I don't understand how people can criticize the game so much when it's genuinely great for the most part, and also has some of the best elements in the series.
Go watch the Raycevik video, it does a better breakdown than I could write here to describe the same things I found in my playthrough recently.

It's a good game, yes.
Is it a stand out of quality that makes MEA look bad? No, it isn't. There is no way to say that without stretching reality.
There's many, many, many rushed elements of that game that while overlookable, are an example of how the game is rushed and unfinished. The number of balls dropped plot wise is innumberable, the number of balls dropped level design wise is massive. The problems with the gameplay while remedied from every other game, is still present.
Yes, MEA does seemingly take some steps backwards for some inexplicable reason. but I'm not sure where the defense of that game as some well polished gem comes from. It was good. But not polished.

Like was the writing really that good in ME3? I just replayed it. It didn't seem that good. It seemed kinda.... shit?
The game is seriously not that bad, and I don't understand how people can criticize the game so much when it's genuinely great for the most part, and also has some of the best elements in the series.
It seriously is that bad. I've been replaying the series and that bad parts of each stand out to me more now since I've had a couple of years of separation.
ME1's combat was bearable when it came out but it's just an obstacle these days. The Uncharted Worlds are a great idea with awful execution, mostly down to noise generated maps, prefab buildings, and the aforementioned combat.
ME2 was a massive improvement in gameplay but a massive downgrade as a RPG. The gameplay, while a step up, doesn't hold up well today. It's too slow and too conflicted with ideas half realised, the level design is more detailed than ME1 but the encounter design is awful. It also started the developers funnelling your options in dialogue.
ME3 has by far the best gameplay, hell I'd say as far as cover based shooters go it's one of the best. I dropped Gears of War because ME3 did everything that did with greater variety, and it did more. For a story it has great scenarios, like Tuchanka and Rannoch, but it has more bland linear shooting missions where little happens. It is also the game with the lowest quality assets in the series, the limitation of RAM in the consoles at the time meant the game was stripped of every model, animation, and sound clip possible. Couple that with a contrived as fuck story "Gather resources/help while we build the McGuffin" and the terrible ending means ME3 is fully deserving of the criticism it gets. It isn't "a damn good game in every other regard [than the ending]" or "genuinely great for the most part", it is a deeply flawed game which came from a uniquely shitty position.

Agreed, I personally loved it when Kai Leng did an action pose, said "TIME TO GET SERIOUS" and calmly walked towards the target while missiles out of nowhere blew Shepard away.
And let's not forget EDI getting plugged into a sex-bot with a cameltoe!
Or the CHILD! The child! That wonderful, PTSD child!
[sp]Legion died for your sins for this.[/sp]
This would have been good if Ryder didn't talk like that classmate in highschool who volunteers to read everything but can't get past the words with multiple syllables.
One of these things is not like the other
To expand on this, Nier has great presentation and gameplay from what I've seen.
The amount of detail in it is incredible.
How the FUCK did this game happen
Honestly if Suvi's facial animations weren't completely fucked, she'd be the only attractive character in the game.
Honestly if Suvi's facial animations weren't completely fucked, she'd be the only attractive character in the game.
Heck no. It's more than just her animations that need to be fixed. She's got a lumpy potato-ish visage and a pair of eyes that look more dead than my hype for this game.
Honestly if Suvi's facial animations weren't completely fucked, she'd be the only attractive character in the game.
No offense, but you've got a low standard for attractiveness with this game then.
for all the work they did on characters like Vetra, it really seems that if you were a human character in this game, you were destined to be relegated to the laziest animators at bioware.
No offense, but you've got a low standard for attractiveness with this game then.
maybe I should've rephrased that to "least ugly"
[editline]19th March 2017[/editline]
actually nevermind, I just looked at some more pictures, and all these characters belong in the trash.
