the fuck is wrong with these AAA titles... Nowadays its like they shit out of their asses crap games and the budget apparently goes to marketing only
Really.
Hey, Tali's was top tier and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise!
Tali and Garrus both had legitimately endearing romance scenes. [sp]It is also kind of adorable how they end up together if you romance neither[/sp]
honestly, people are remembering every mass effect game way too fondly
I mean I replayed the whole series back to back like maybe a year or so ago and I think they still hold up from a story standpoint because there's just so many endearing characters. If anything ME1 ended up being the one I disliked the most in that regard because the characters don't have as much development as they end up having in ME2. I never cared much for the big reaper plot, I'll be honest, but meeting your crew and learning about them and such was legitimately great stuff.
Honestly if Suvi's facial animations weren't completely fucked, she'd be the only attractive character in the game.
Objectively wrong, Cora best girl.
Objectively wrong, Cora best girl.
> not Vetra wew lad (User was banned for this post ("Don't greentext" - Kiwi))
> not Vetra wew lad
Decent human ass > best chicken ass.
Agreed, I personally loved it when Kai Leng did an action pose, said "TIME TO GET SERIOUS" and calmly walked towards the target while missiles out of nowhere blew Shepard away. And let's not forget EDI getting plugged into a sex-bot with a cameltoe! Or the CHILD! The child! That wonderful, PTSD child! [sp]Legion died for your sins for this.[/sp]
How am I even supposed to argue with this? "It has some great things" "Let me prove you wrong by enumerating some of the worst things". You missed my point on purpose. [editline]20th March 2017[/editline]
ME3 has by far the best gameplay, hell I'd say as far as cover based shooters go it's one of the best. I dropped Gears of War because ME3 did everything that did with greater variety, and it did more. For a story it has great scenarios, like Tuchanka and Rannoch, but it has more bland linear shooting missions where little happens. It is also the game with the lowest quality assets in the series, the limitation of RAM in the consoles at the time meant the game was stripped of every model, animation, and sound clip possible. Couple that with a contrived as fuck story "Gather resources/help while we build the McGuffin" and the terrible ending means ME3 is fully deserving of the criticism it gets. It isn't "a damn good game in every other regard [than the ending]" or "genuinely great for the most part", it is a deeply flawed game which came from a uniquely shitty position.
The game is genuinely good for the most part. You are being overdramatic about it, and your argument about "least quality assets"... I don't even know what you mean since it's not obvious to me, or most people, so that makes it sound like something you pulled to give weight to your claim. The ending is fucking terrible. Kai Leng is terrible. The overall plot is not great at all. As a Mass Effect game it's not as good as it should have been. But it is a great game.

So is it just me, or does the female Ryder suffer from serious Dreamworks-face in pretty much all serious situations?
So is it just me, or does the female Ryder suffer from serious Dreamworks-face in pretty much all serious situations?
She suffers from something worse.
She suffers from something worse.
like fetal alcohol syndrome
like fetal alcohol syndrome
Close, probably related, but no. I'm afraid it's FCBG syndrome. It's terminal.
the fuck is wrong with these AAA titles... Nowadays its like they shit out of their asses crap games and the budget apparently goes to marketing only
It all comes down to who you hire and how much pride those people take in their work, along with EA's tight scheduling and no mercy rules. If I were in charge I probably wouldn't hire a programmer that hasn't done a single line of code in four years and went with someone else. Take these scenes for example. I've seen better from even the worst SFM animators.
Heterosexual and lesbian scenes are detailed while gay romance is fade to black and "falling into bed after implied sex" TV show tier shit. I bet there would be a blanket too if they could animate it. Hilarious.

The bit where you pointed out that just because bad things were mentioned doesn't mean the good is invalid? It works the other way around too. I never said there wasn't good stuff in Mass Effect 3, I just said that there's a disproportionate amount of bad stuff. The cinematography is a significant step down from ME2, the backgrounds are devoid of life, the distant characters are hilariously low quality sprites, it has the lowest resolution textures of the entire series, and the game devolves into enemy spam during tense moments. I'm not being over dramatic in the slightest, I'm being honest. Mass Effect 3 is fill with problems from beginning to end, there isn't a single feature of the game that wasn't hurt by the short development time. It suffered the same fate as Dragon Age 2, a stupidly tight schedule mandated by EA while other large projects were under development and Bioware was tasked with overseeing EA's entire RPG division. You have to remember that this was the time when all of EA's game were being fucked with thanks to corporate over reach and they all suffered for it. What Mass Effect 3 needed more than anything else was time, it should have gotten at least 3 years of dev time, hell 4 would be more appropriate for how massive an undertaking the project was. Instead they got 22 months, not even 2 full years to make the largest RPG they'd ever made. You have to be fucking blind to say the game isn't rife with issues. [editline]20th March 2017[/editline] It stands out more when you play Mass Effect 3's DLC. The quality of those is a significant step up from the base game. Especially the Citadel DLC. If the entire game was as good as that it'd be one of the best games ever.
While you will have to take this with a massive salt block, it seems they've taken it to the men in general. While I can't quite tell with the camera angle at 4:53, it's almost like they didn't bother with anyone's genitals, like it's sex between Barbie and Ken.
While I can't quite tell with the camera angle at 4:53, it's almost like they didn't bother with anyone's genitals, like it's sex between Barbie and Ken.
Fucking manhating sjw agenda, literally cutting men's dicks [sp]/s[/sp] Of course they didn't bother, and it's not like I'd fault them for it - why waste resources on dicks and vaginas if no one's intended to see them. It's just that the camera angle is shit and you can actually notice that something that should be there - isn't. You don't actually see that when first watching it (I didn't) but you still get this weird feeling that something's not right about this whole scene as a result. Or he tucked his microdick between his legs, that works too I guess. Or if it froze off in the cryo. I mean, weird feeling beyond the fact that you've just watched two full-on uncanny valley dolls pretend to fuck.
honestly, people are remembering every mass effect game way too fondly
I think there's an element of this, but it's pretty clear Andromeda is a steaming pile of horse feces compared to the first 3 games. Bioware has no idea what the hell they're doing anymore. Instead of making passable RPGs with fun gameplay they have been making formulaic RPGs with vapid and completely uninteresting characters with hamfisted interactions prioritized above all else (and their strengths are certainly not in their storytelling anymore.)

If the entire game was as good as that it'd be one of the best games ever.
Don't forget I agree that the game has its problems and its big fucking problems. But ME3 is also the game with the most dynamically directed cutscenes, it has great characterization aboard the Normandy, the Romance works better than ever before in the series and feels more constant (not just an endgame reward cutscene), and as pointed out many times before, it definitely has the best gunplay. Just making sure you weigh the pro's too, not just the con's when you start trash-talking ME3, which I'd pick any day over ME1 considering how massively buggy and broken it is.

I'll keep saying this untill i'm blue in the face. Hire porn animators. They will fix all your troubles.
I'll keep saying this untill i'm blue in the face. Hire porn animators. I am honestly astonished that this is the quality of work they are okay with when there is probably a whole sea of talent they could have tapped into.
