I cant wait for fox to go crazy over this.
"CALL OF DUTY PROMOTES TERRORISM AGAIN! SHOULD VIDEO GAMES BE BANNED? MORE AT 11."
It's best if you just pretend it's a parody. That way the plot holes go from being stupid to hilarious.
Hey it's almost like the story wasn't meant to be taken seriously.
Also that was a pretty cool cutscene.
Okay fine ill get the game. But only because each time ive played it, ive had this distressing feeling of what if this really was happening? and i used to live in london when the bus bombings happened and that was scary in itself.
Is it wrong that I bursted out laughing when the truck exploded?
Is it wrong that I bursted out laughing when the truck exploded?
You disgusting person! thats real life pixels dying on screen! kiddy pixels! its people like you that make this world sick.
Children in games are always wonky and unnatural. I mean, really, who would even act like that?
It's like the whole Jason thing in Heavy Rain. A ten-year-old with a retarded fascination for balloons somehow manages to get outside a mall and across the street perfectly fine, and then he runs into traffic to get back to his dad which gets the kid killed and the father in a coma.
All modern writers presume children are retarded in works like these, regardless of nationality.
I like how, to convey properly that it's London, we have:

Really?.......

cod4 was cool, mw2 campaign had alright gameplay but the story was terrible
:(

And here it's entirely compacted in one picture.
It's line in that trailer about kill confirm they made where they identify different locations, and pretty much all their Paris maps have pavement roads.
You know, just like Paris only had fucking pavement roads everywhere. I doubt they even took time to actually go there and see what it's like.

0:13 What's that red trasport thing in the background? I'm sure it has nothing to do with london.
In MW4 I'm totally expecting a quick time event that is based around the rape of an asian woman.
I lost it when the pidgeons "died" after the explosion.
They look like fucking toys.

Of Their Own Accord is still personally one of the best mission's I've played in a recent FPS because of this, it was really a cool :911: moment.
What a shitty way to get attention using the "found footage" hype that's out recently.
I'd imagine so, although Britain wasnt included with the American-Russian war in MW2. Might have to do with Price and Soap being British that Makarov decided to plan out that attack. That or the British where secretly helping the americans and the russians found out about that.
Something like that, anyway. I havent played MW2 in ages due to snapping the disk.
The British government was the only one that sided with the Americans during the Russo-American War, the rest stayed neutral because they thought America was getting what it deserved.
Russia is attacking because [sp]an earlier mission in MW3 has you capturing or killing the Russian President as Makarov on a plane, which for some reason makes the Russians want to invade Europe. Simply put, the chemical/biological attacks across Europe are Russian funded, rather then being simply terrorists.[/sp]
If the story leak is any indication, then that means in the end [sp]Russia might win, since an after credits mission has you playing a Russian soldier as you set fire to Washington D.C, although that may just be a flashback to MW2, since a late game mission has you playing a Delta Force soldier in Moscow, which implies the US has a serious military presence there.[/sp]

Wait wait wait hold on a second, [sp]Makarov is now the fucking russian president?[/sp] The story is really just getting dumber and dumber with every game they make.
Wait wait wait hold on a second, [sp]Makarov is now the fucking russian president?[/sp] The story is really just getting dumber and dumber with every game they make.
I worded it incorrectly, [sp]Makarov kidnaps/kills the Russian president, that's the plane mission you see in the trailers. They're on their way to sign the peace treaty to end the Russo-American war.[/sp]
Can they seriously use Gaz' voice actor for something else other than the exact same character role each game? Either it's the developer's own running gag or they're being too lazy to come up with a new 'badass teammate' sort of role and a new actor for it.
Also, an explosion like that would probably of mauled the wife a bit. Instead she just collapses and dies. And the little girl disappears entirely while dead pigeons bounce off the streets like they suffer from Rubber Rigor Mortis. Is it a little weird how Treyarch depicts WWII and the Vietnam War plus extra situations with various gore and missing limbs, but Infinity Ward doesn't even dare show bullet wounds on things in the Modern Warfare series?
(Cutscenes aside, like Zakhev or whatever getting his arm blown off in MW1, or probably a couple of specific things here or there in MW2. But seriously, you see people trail blood, lots of mist and otherwise, but only on very specific cutscene or background bodies do you actually see wounds.)
since when did Russia have the economic capability to attack the entire world, at the same time?
Why didn't anybody question the historical accuracy of CoD before Modern Warfare.
I stopped taking the game seriously when I was riding the back of a truck that had infinite panzerfausts in it on way to an air base where I would blow up several AA guns and tanks then escape by hijacking a Luftwaffe bomber.

None of that is even nearly as crazy and illogical as the MW2 campaign was.

Oh right there's a certain limit on how crazy and illogical we can have games.
You people are a fucking joke.
What world is this where big ben is in a back alley of London?
Oh right there's a certain limit on how crazy and illogical we can have games.

Well every game is a bit crazy and illogical. A game that is 100% serious and realistic wouldn't be much of a game. Even ArmA is a bit illogical. But there's a limit and the MW storyline has gotten to a point where not a single plot point in it makes even a slight bit of sense.

For a game that sells itself on realism, it really does fail to deliver, just like your argument.
For a game that sells itself on realism, it really does fail to deliver, just like your argument.
Are you serious?
CoD has NEVER sold itself on realism. It appreciates authenticity but certainly not realism.
And since when was I arguing? I'm just making posts. I've long since learned that arguing about Call of Duty is sad and pedantic. If its a thread about the singleplayer we all talk about how the story is dumb while blatantly ignoring the fact that it's an action FPS and we are holding it to a different standard. If its a thread about the multiplayer we all talk about how the series never changes despite Activision breaking sales records every time the "same game" releases. Yeah, because they definitely should mess with the formula that keeps getting them results.
People won't be happy until Call of Duty isn't the best selling game every year and their friends stop talking about it. This happens with every top dog in a genre. First it was Quake, then it was UT, then it was Halo, and now it's CoD. Hopefully Battlefield takes over next so we can see posts picking apart every minute story detail in Bad Company 3 or Battlefield 4 or whatever is next.

It does fails horribly on authenticity though now, you gotta admit that.
