Then they ought to update that shit and take an active role in it. It's completely unacceptable that people can effectively silence others just by spam reporting their videos.
So, when is Huffington Post or some other news source like that going to go with "Youtube supports white supremancy narrative" type of headline I mean, it would be like the one good thing they would ever have done because the video would probably be back up within hours
Youtube is shit, and is getting worse, when it comes to taking down people's videos. He had every right to criticise this gal, but that's somehow an attack on her and against their rules? Fuck off.
Apparently fetish Elsa & Spiderman borderline porn aimed at children is alright but debunking racist conspiracy theories isn't.

It wouldn't fit the narrative of the white, racist man.
That's fucked up. I wonder why? The only thing I can think of would be calling people antisemites?
The probably didn't even really check tbh knowing youtube
A few people have speculated that their system is all done by algorithms and the video was taken down because of the sheer volume of people (and maybe even bots) reporting it. Would explain why political videos like this keep going down in spite of not violating any rules.
It's almost certainly an automated system, Google are big on AI development after all, and this is the kind of task such a system could excel in if taught correctly. Plus fuck hiring hundreds of people just to sift through false reports from the alt-right. It's easier to reactively fix the problem after someone has their video taken down/ monetisation stopped than it is to proactively fix it (until the automation learns the requirements of a takedown fully).
[...] if taught correctly. [...]
That would require them doing this properly in the first place, though. I also don't think it would be great at judging videos that cite genuine hate/racist propaganda like this one, until they manage to give it actual semantic processing.
They never would for the simple fact that it's a woman who is saying it. It wouldn't fit the narrative of the white, racist man.
Because Le Pen was never attacked by the huff post right?

Probably an automated response because god forbid Youtube/Google actually has a human check something.
'White genocide is real! Anyone who dares to talk about it is being silenced!' Meanwhile dozens of white genocide conspiracies are up on YouTube with thousands or millions of views and videos debunking the idea are raided with false reports and taken down. Whose free speech are we supposed to be worried about, again? 樂 Actually something really similar happened to another left-wing YouTuber, ContraPoints, a few weeks ago.
Nobody actually believes white genocide is a thing. It's just a boogeyman narrative they spout out to justify bigotry against other races. They don't have to believe it, and nothing you do to debunk it will ever convince them otherwise. It's true because it has to be, otherwise they have no justification for their white supremacist bullshit. [editline]21st July 2017[/editline] The scariest thing to come to terms with in this political climate is that there are tons of people who straight up just want a status quo that benefits them at the heavy expense of others. They don't give a fuck. They know what they're doing is wrong on a moral level and they don't care for the facts, either. This is why they feel a need to silence opposing opinions. It's not convenient to their flimsy justification.
this is like seeing 20 people enter a house for a party and going "within a year, over 7000 people will live here!"
No it isn't, they're having more children than us and they're immigrating here at the same time. How is this hard to understand?
No it isn't, they're having more children than us and they're immigrating here at the same time. How is this hard to understand?
I wish the video wasn't down, god damn. First off, think of the reason why birthrates are so low in very developed countries. There's not just one answer but there's many similarities between these countries, an ageing population, low rates of infant mortality, very highly developed public services, high median income, high rates of employment among women. Conversely, look at other countries with high birthrates, they tend to have the complete opposite situation. Clearly, we don't want to get rid of things that are of great good to society like the aforementioned low infant mortality, just to keep the population from stagnating, so, regular immigration becomes a necessity. What happens when that immigrant arrives though? They enter a society with good healthcare, high wages and so forth, and over time, their fertility rates approximate that of the native population. This relationship between fertility rates and standards of living can be easily demonstrated by how birth rates in China and India are falling as their economies become more developed. If things worked like you said, which is ultimately a Malthusian way of looking at it, the world's population would only grow indefinitely as time goes on, which can be demonstrated to be wrong as the global trend is towards higher standards of living, enabled by an increasingly more globalized economy. If current trends hold, the world's population will actually top out at around 15 billion, as the gap between developed and under developed countries shrink. You may be asking, why do we need a population to grow anyway? Why not let it stabilize? The answer is simple, and again related to the economy: jobs. If people live longer it means they take longer to die, which means they get to live way past retirement age, which in turn means that someone has to take care of them, as they also perform the role in society they no longer can provide. The economy needs workers to function, to maintain efficiency you must have enough people that can work to cover all available jobs.
I hope someone mirrors the video and shaun doesn't feel demotivated by this abuse of the system, because really what he's doing is a small part of an effort urgently needs to be made. There needs to be an answer to the diarrhea the alt right """skeptic community""" has been pumping out, which is a hard won victory just because a video called "x paranoid fantasy isn't true" isn't as click baity and outrage fueling as "them muslims r bade rapey rapey white genocide"
It's much easier than that actually, you can instead make a video called "sargon of akkad can't read", the clickbait titling can go both ways.
Clickbait titles can be accurate, to me it just means they're written in a way to be clicked on. Not a good/bad judgement in this case.
