Its mostly warp corruption and the extremes of the gods personalities, chaos gods are not good or evil but all flavours of personalities they represent, to their upmost extremes. Slaanesh and Nurgle are the most mutated because that is their perception of beauty or looks.

I don't think the "Orks believe it so it's true" thing actually happens, there hasn't been any proper confirmation. It's all just speculation from characters in-universe, with the main source (at least i think it's the main one, not too sure on that) of it actually saying in the same paragraph that the person speculating tends to exaggerate a lot.

Depends on the situation. Generally, IIRC, the WAAAGHS with less captured material to work from lean more on the WAAAGH field to support their tech base.

going by gameplay, iirc red paint totally is an upgrade for ork vehicles and it totally does make them go faster (have an increased movement range)

If an Ork Mek is going to upgrade a vehicle he's going to give it some red paint when he's done, and there are plenty of differences that can make them faster that wouldn't be noticable. To the other Orks, the only visible change is the paint. There isn't any actual proof that I've seen of Orks actually influencing things around them, just speculation from in-universe characters who aren't entirely reliable.
