Plus I don't see the Tau using anything that could match an Emperor class titan. Hell they'd probably even struggle with the Reaver.
You rang? Sure, it can't fight most titans one on one, but you could build three to six of the things for the material and cost of a lesser titan and when it's not causing reality to ensue against your god-machines, it can be dropping troops, hunting starships or brutalizing conventional forces from the skies.
Best piece of writing on 1d4: http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Adeptus_Mechanicus#Why_Everything_is_so_Grimdark
Jesus christ, that is a beautiful description of the universe.
Do the books say anything about how the Chaos followers turn to look so fucked up? I understand Nurgle, since he infects them with all kinds of shit. But all the others? I see no reason why they shouldn't look like normal humans.
Its mostly warp corruption and the extremes of the gods personalities, chaos gods are not good or evil but all flavours of personalities they represent, to their upmost extremes. Slaanesh and Nurgle are the most mutated because that is their perception of beauty or looks. Yes, 40k has social subjected opinions, beware of the anti CIS chaos marines.
Its funny how this thread made me spend like 4 hours reading wh40k lore even though I haven't touched it in like a decade.
Spent easily two hours reading on the lighter side of stuff, aka 1d4. the "real" side of it is also pretty interesting, and THIN YOUR PAINTS is the funniest shit i've read in weeks
oh god
do you know this thrill when you read three week-old thread that got bumped and you just scroll down waiting for a dumb post of someone who can't read dates that wasn't the case this time through the bump is 100% justified
The thrill of observing boxes is unmatched by any mortal pleasure.
Hearing the word of the Emperor is an honor and a pleasure beyond mortal limitation.
I really wanted to hear him tell the Emprah about Tyranids. Then he'd really shit himself.
I really wanted to hear him tell the Emprah about Tyranids. Then he'd really shit himself.
But Tyranids just came from another universe and try to swallow the whole galaxy, what else do we need to know?
The Tyranids are attracted to the Astronomicon. They call it the Astronomnomicon.
Wow, they're actually making a story out of these videos. I approve. At least finally we can enjoy something else than the stagnant bullshit GWS keep doing. Btw, since the thread is alive again. Does anyone know if there's anything Warhammer-related as badass as this? Cause damn, this speech is just too good.

That actually would be a plausible story, for the emperor to finally get off his ass, and essentially cause a human cold war. Sure the opposition would be thoroughly fucked, but it would still be better than you know, the big lot of nothing they've done with him so far.

damn Kamarazov's voice is pretty much spot on
New episode
The fuck? He says that Magnus fell to the temptations of Chaos and that's why he sent that psychic message. But all he wanted to do was try to warn the Emperor about Horus's corruption, poor Magnus
New episode
The sad part is, this characterisation is spot on. So madly addicted to what they thought the Emperor wants them to do, that they'll kill anybody who tells them otherwise- including the Emperor himself.
The Warhammer universe seems to be filled with hilarious insanity. Although calling it insanity may not be entirely true because that would assume the existence of sanity to begin with.

It's fucking batshit insane.

It's all just speculation from characters in-universe, with the main source (at least i think it's the main one, not too sure on that) of it actually saying in the same paragraph that the person speculating tends to exaggerate a lot.

Generally, IIRC, the WAAAGHS with less captured material to work from lean more on the WAAAGH field to support their tech base.
Shit what the fuck why have I not seen this emprah approved
going by gameplay, iirc red paint totally is an upgrade for ork vehicles and it totally does make them go faster (have an increased movement range)
If an Ork Mek is going to upgrade a vehicle he's going to give it some red paint when he's done, and there are plenty of differences that can make them faster that wouldn't be noticable. To the other Orks, the only visible change is the paint. There isn't any actual proof that I've seen of Orks actually influencing things around them, just speculation from in-universe characters who aren't entirely reliable.
nightlord you're literally the Ork fun police

That ending, I need to know! I can't wait a month ;~;
