• If the Emperor had a Text-to-Speech device

So, the Emperor is actually a psychic ravaged corpse of a man that is enslaved to serve humanity in some quite mind-boggling ways? He's a light-house for space travel, he can even stop time for some time, and is the only thing that stands before Humankind's destruction? Cool, I guess..
Is it possible that this whole time there was no text-to-speech device and the whole affair has just been the Custodes talking to himself?
How would the custos know about Magnus and such but not about the Age of Strife?
Is it possible that this whole time there was no text-to-speech device and the whole affair has just been the Custodes talking to himself?
Or maybe the text to speech device isn't connected to the emperor. Maybe someone else is typing up words on a computer and pretending to be him? Think Wizard of Oz.
in 40k a lot of stuff doesn't make sense like the Chaos God of Atheism.
How would the custos know about Magnus and such but not about the Age of Strife?
the Heresy and the Primarchs are probably well-documented but the Age of Strife is pre-Imperial history and thus less known to people other than historians and the Mechanicus

On the topic of Orks...
I really hope he dedicates an episode to the Octarius war and kryptmann and 'nids in general. Because...
The Octarius War is the most hilarious and fail venture the Imperium of Man has ever made. And believe us, that is no small feat. The Imperial Guard were having their asses handed to them by the Orks on the planet Ghorala in the Octarius system. Former Lord Inquisitor Kryptman, leading expert on the Tyranids, decided that the best solution would be to sic a recently captured swarm of Tyranids on the Orks, let the two fight it out, and mop up the remaining survivors with the IG. The obvious flaw in his plan of course is that both Nids and Orks thrive on war, being unintentional experts at biological warfare, meaning the survivor would emerge much stronger than ever before. The conflict has currently devolved into a massive meat grinder and both races are fucking loving it. This tale is notable for being one of the few bits of fluff in the Nid 'dex where they don't get their arses handed to them by space communists, space elves or fucking smurfs Never mind on the Eldar part, they're currently trying to clean up Kryptman's mess by bio-purging the front line and worlds around it. Unfortunately, they missed the Overfiend of Octarius, who just managed to loot an Avatar of Khaine...fucccckkkkk
...when he hears about this, Emps is going to shit bricks.
The Octarius War doesn't sound too bad. You have the strongest Ork army and the strongest Tyranid army gathered on relatively few worlds. Each race aims to destroy the other and has used resources that they would have used against the Imperium. Saim-Hann is doing what it can to make sure the war stays in a small area of space. All the Imperium needs to do now is make sure that the conflict is very evenly matched, so much so that no one faction can afford to attack the Imperium. Should this fail, you still have the very strongest Orks in the galaxy thumping about on a planet or in a Space Hulk. Just send a cyclonic torpedo their way and be done with it. The enemies of mankind should be manipulated at every opportunity to do its bidding. Conflicts such as the Octarius War need to be started across the fringes of the Milky Way. Tomb worlds should be sold to the Tau. Cadia should fall - to the Orks.

A bit more civilized than throwing Tyranids at Orks, but the same idea more or less.
Tomb worlds should be sold to the Tau.
Trouble with that from the Imperium's view is that the AdMec have, or at least tried to recover tech from the things. Sure, if the Tau wake up the locals, they're screwed (Barring a reasonable local Necron leader who serves an eviction notice first before sending in the the immortals), but if they can glean some knowledge from the thing, they could improve their technology considerably and as I mentioned, given that the AdMec has considered it worthwhile to try get knowledge from said things... that might be a realistic possibility.
Is it possible that this whole time there was no text-to-speech device and the whole affair has just been the Custodes talking to himself?
The big deciding factor in that is the mindfield blasts that The Emperor does; not only does The Emperor use it against Custodes, but also in the outside world (Remember when he was told about The Inquisition?). I'm pretty sure this is just a bit of a crack theory.
-Nevermind-

Whenever these come up, I go back through and re-watch the old videos, and the third one got me thinking something. It's probably extra-heretical for me to even bring this up, but what was the in-universe explanation behind the Space Marines being male only?

What the fuck are those custodes even?
Did they fuck up the custodes in a new codex or something?
What the fuck are those custodes even?
Apparently they're the pillarmen from Jojo's bizarre adventure with custodes helmets. but they're based on rogue trader era custodes. Wow fuck I'm not the first one to post the new episode for once :v:
The Pillar Men are the best JoJo villains [editline]23rd March 2014[/editline] 40k lore is so expansive that sometimes my friends and I will forget what the Horus Heresy was but remember the plot of a Ciaphis Cain novel.

This series is amazing, it got me into WH40k. Some of the articles on 1d4chan have left me in tears from laughing. Example, Trayzyn:
Trazyn the Infinite is a preserver of histories, artifacts and events. In his possession are technologies and relics that are so valuable as to be priceless. Amongst his collection are the fabled wraithbone choir of Altansar, the preserved head of Sebastian Thor, the ossified husk of an Enslaver and a suit of baroque power armour, complete with the Space Marine who was still wearing it. This means that he is the only creature in this or any other universe that rivals the stealing power of the Blood Ravens.

"A war-torn city in the Ultramar system. The Ultramarines, aided by an Imperial Guard regiment led by Lord Castellan Ursarkar Creed, prepares to face an Ork incursion in a final battle. The Orks are numerous, but the Imperium has the upper hand, just barely, as Lord Creed's tactical genius has proven invaluable. As the Orks begin their final assault on the city, the Ultramarines ready their defenses. Creed, ever oddly silent, gazes intently at a large flagpole in the center of town, watching through binocs as the Orks' charge is funneled towards the center of the city. Suddenly, as the Orks near the square, the tip of a Baneblade's main gun can be seen coming around the flagpole. The great tank begins to emerge from behind the thin metal object, perfectly and impossibly concealed. It begins to move into its firing arc, and a great shout is heard from the Warboss down below, just barely carrying over the rest of the din. "CREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-" Suddenly, the cry cuts off in confusion, as Creed spits out his cigar. Where the Baneblade once stood, there is air, thin air. Not a trace remains of the enormous tank. It has vanished completely. Then, gradually, a green, crackling, electrical rune appears hanging in the air where the Baneblade was. It extends gracefully, for its platonic geometric form. If Creed was given to poetry, he might even say it resembled a rose. But he knew better. A rage he had felt only once before began to boil deep within, and his cry shook the world as the Orkish tide began to slaughter his guardsmen and be slaughtered by Marines in turn. "TRAAAAAAAAAAAAZYYYYYYYYN!"
http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Trazyn_the_Infinite
The "absolutely livid" part startled me because it came out of fucking nowhere.
These were hilarious. Oh, and also reminds me I got to start up that Celestial Lions army I been planning.
