Jesus stated to "love one and other as I have loved you" (I forgot where in the bible it is, but it's in there). That basicly means to treat people as you would like to be treated.
The problem is, alot of Christians think of the "eye for eye, tooth for tooth" of the Old Testament, which was a bunch of laws made by Mosus before he died (why alot of bible bashers see homosexualty as evil) rather then the "forgive and forget" of the New Testament.

In fact, I don't see why the Christian bible has the Old Testament, it just causes confusion.

Jesus said he regarded the Old Testament as God's word, "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill." Matthew 5:17

Your verse is...
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
Now, I don't know if you just like Christ's teachings or if you actually are a born-again Christian, but your argument that this verse is evidence that Christians are decreed to tolerate other religions is merely an assumption. This "love" described could just as easily refer to "tough love" such as that of rebuking your fellow man for not following the correct way, because you care about him for his own sake.
Besides, I already know that what you're saying is not part of Christian doctrine because Jesus also said:
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Jesus is stating here that he and he only is the key to "coming to the Father", the Father being God (in reference to an afterlife spent in Heaven as opposed to going to Hell after dying). That would seem to indicate that it is far more likely that Jesus wants his Christian followers to persuade unbelievers into joining the communion of saints.
Now, in reference to this video in particular... duh, of course it's a low blow, and I doubt Christ is saying "well done guys, fuck that Hindu up". But I also doubt he's saying that the Christians should simply tolerate alternative faiths.

Holy shit, you too are a Christian? Whatever the fuck happened to "A man's wisdom gives him patience"?
Lol, jk.
what an ass.
what an ass.
that's what she said
Im fine with religion and all that bullshit, but I really can't comprehend how the fuck anyone would be stupid enough to believe that there's people in the clouds controlling the world. Even in this day and age that we're technologically advancing each year, you'd think that people this decade wouldn't be incredibly biased and retarded.

i don't get the joke
Remember the argument we had about absolutely jack-shit in the thread about Bush's new book?
Not really
No, of course you don't...
Well, as stated before the stuff in the New Testament is very easy to twist either way meaning-wise, it's so subjective that you can't really call it a definitive anything.
Therefore Bible still=intolerant.
No, of course you don't...
you're implying what, exactly
if we had an argument, it's because you said something dumb and i called you out on it
You're a good man, pat on the back for you
Good job, God-fearing Christians! Don't let him speak or he will put a daemonic Hindu curse on you and your family!
[editline]09:10PM[/editline]
TBH they're in the Senate though so they shouldn't really be praying for any religion
The title made me laugh. Made it seem like the Hindu guy was doing something evil
I would've gotten away with it, too, If it weren't for you meddling Christians!
I'LL GET YOU NEXT TIME, JESUSSSSSSS

They still believe in imaginary friends!
My god, people are assholes.
"My religion teaching how to be a good person is better than your religion teaching how to be a good person ! :argh:"
Ignorant fucks. The bible says to be tolerant of other cultures and religions, even if you don't believe in them, not to just yell at anyone who looks foreign.
I am pretty sure it says stone blasphemers.
This guy is a total cunt.
Why do I get the feeling that if it was the other way around facepunch would be in favor of the Buddhist guy
Why do I get the feeling that if it was the other way around facepunch would be in favor of the Buddhist guy
I think Facepunch could give a fuck either way, and, in the end, it's all about the lulz.

lol, This.
But what the people did in the video was stupid. And just downright annoying. The Speaker of the House should've leaned toward the mic and been like, "Guys...just shut the fuck up for a second..."
God is a made up character that only remained because the people stopped believing in santaclaus.
Most christians are immature and act like children, as you can see in this video.

Couldn't agree more.

Wait what, santa claus was made up before christianity so as to have a non-religious character for non believers during Christmas time.
Oh yes, generalize every christian ever because some are assholes, just like how every black person is a criminal and females are all stupid right?
That's pretty much the same level of thinking.
Couldn't agree more.
Of course you agree, because you think that people shut up if you tell them to because words are like magic.
