Depends on the missile. The Vikhr which the Ka-50 uses, has a guidance system which works by riding a laser beam projected by the helicopter itself. One tactic against multiple ground targets is to launch a few Vikhrs every few seconds, and beam each target until one missile hits. Think of it like a TOW missile, but guided by a laser.
With a little training you could probably take down other helicopters with it.

That and I've used an AGM-65 on an enemy MiG-29 once, it was still tracking it when it flew 30km away from it.
I shot an AGM 65 at a friend who was taking off. He was still on the ground as I launched it, so it targeted no problem. He lifted off before the Maverick got to him. It completely circled his plane about 5 times before actually hitting him
i've shot down Ka-50's with Mavericks before, but not all AGM-65 Models actually track.
