Alright, realistically speaking here, aside from the terrible plot premise and the live action garbage, the CG sections and the designs of most of what I saw there I can dig. It still has that 90's cheap CGI cheese to it that Reboot and other shows made by the same studio were known for with a bit of a modern twist and I actually like that. But, unfortunately, it's ruined by LITERALLY everything else.
So the CG is supposed to look worse than what videogames can pull off in real time today?
Well, the thumbnail looks a lot like the original, how could this be ba-- ... Ooohhh noooooooo.
It feels like one of those videogames that the developer has little confidence in, so at the last second they swap some sprites around in an attempt to make it look like a known franchise.
No one show this to Woolie. I fear he may do something dangerous if he saw this.
There....there are no words to describe this abomination. :nope:
This is basically just Code Lyoko.
It feels like a knock off Code Lyoko tbh
Oh jesus...what have they done to you...
First shot is live action Already made a critical error [editline]22nd February 2018[/editline] Lets follow up the world's first 100% cg show with a remake that's mostly live action, that makes sense This looks like someone's original idea with Reboot's skin pulled over it
Here's the thing, while Reboot might've aged really hard in terms if visual quality, what made the show was the story it told and how it played with it's Lore and honestly Everytime I saw reboot playing on TV it was the best. From Bob's escapades to Enzo's Journey to reclaim his home, Aside from the lackluster movies Reboot was a wonderful showcase of a CGI show done right and was that got me into CGI Animation. Seeing this disappoints me as they have taken almost nothing from the original and while it's fine to not directly take from the source material, there is a point when you stray too far from the main aspect that made Reboot so beloved. It's Story.
This coming from the brilliant minds who have never seen a single episode of the original show basing absolutely nothing on it and instead going for a Power Ranger / Tron feel instead. I'll just hang on to my lovely DVD collection of the entire original series.
It's a shame licensed games aren't much of a thing anymore because if there was a shovelware game pumped out to promote this shitshow, Woolie would have to suffer though it. Again.

they managed to make the cgi look clunkier and less detailed than the original reboot, the first full cgi cartoon what a world we live in
they managed to make the cgi look clunkier and less detailed than the original reboot, the first full cgi cartoon what a world we live in
The original had talent and passion put into it.
Oh boy, not only are they likely to wreck one of my childhood faves, they're doing it in my city. Shooting it that is.
One of my friends is working on this as an animator on the CG segments. Huuuuge fan of the original. Says he's tried a couple of times to pitch some stuff to make it more like the original, but, no dice. Doing what he can to try and keep designs and movement of characters like Megabyte and Hexidecimal as close to the originals as possible, dude spent hours watching episodes of the original show as homework to make sure he managed to be as faithful as he could in the face of what's likely to be universally hated. He also worked on the Bob The Builder reboot, too.
The original had talent and passion put into it.
Beast Wars might look primitive today, but it's the most expressive a Transformers series has ever been.
the visuals on the first one aged surprisingly well, even for such an early 90's CG show thanks to its art direction. in a time and age where vaporware is a thing it was a dead giveaway that you should had taken those visuals and expand upon them because, aside from the story, it was THE selling point. no need for big budgets, you could almost run the entire show in a current low to mid range computer and still render perfectly fine. hell, someone could probably do it in SFM and still achieve it. I suspect they actually lost the rights to the artwork or investor simly though that those visuals were awfully outdated, teens were not going to get invested in that stuff so they needed more neon lining and shit like that. focus groups are ruining reboots, with reboot's reboot being a prime example.
It took me a while to realise it wasn't supposed to be a joke trailer.

https://www.rebootrevival.com/?p=2465 spoilers ahoy if you want to see her design.
