What would they accomplish by blocking the expressway? It's California, so they would be blocking people who were overwhelmingly Hillary voters.
When I see people like this, the first thought that crosses my mind is a memory of flying across the road at high speeds in an ambulance, rushing to an emergency room to ensure that this appendix didn't rupture inside of me. The thought of being caught behind people upset about who's president and affecting my survival is pretty disgusting seeing as I'm not the enemy. Me seeing one of them get hit especially doesn't matter.
And it doesn't have to be me in the backset of an ambulance. It could me trying to rush a bleeding woman to the hospital. It could be me trying to get to my dying mom in the hospital. The second you put your principles over traffic and commerce I think you're disgusting. Get the fuck off the road.
That'll probably read as especially harsh to some people, but I can't understand the mentality of being entitled to the entire road.

It doesn't even have to be that extreme. You could cause people to be late to work and get them fired. All for some petty knee-jerk millennial crybaby shit.

Protesting against someone whose campaign is built on promising civil rights violations isn't "knee-jerk crybaby shit".
That said, impeding the road is also unethical, obviously.
OP post's ratings should serve as an idiot cull for bloodthirsty morons.
edit:
not that I'm saying Trump actually will or will not push for civil-rights violations, but it's absolutely the image he's put on to gather rural votes; can you really be so upset with people for protesting (minus the road blocking)?
Sorry, you're going to have to pay the $120,000 hospital bill yourself because your insurance isn't going to pay up. Turns out being a retard counts as a preexisting condition
*Blocks Road*
"CALL 911!!"
the fucking irony
Blocking things is just civil disobedience but freeways I actually kind of have a problem with since it can actually be very endangering if say, someone giving birth needs to go through or an ambulance. It's not like blocking an airport, specific building, or even a normal road that has other ways around. Depending on where they're blocking at, if you get stuck, you're stuck!
can't wait for when trump inevitably is sworn in and all of this will have been in vain
I doubt anyone can stop him from being sworn in short of something worthy of an instant presidential resignation.
The fact that the results of a presidential election have stirred up such a historic negative response is something in itself though, so even if nothing happens it won't have been a complete waste of time, unlike Trump's campaign.
I hope the person is all right, but other than that I hope they learned a lesson about not being a dumbass. Why the hell would people think protesting on a fucking freeway at night was a good idea?
I stepped in a lake once and I got wet.
You can't stop walls from being built if you yourself are building your own.
Especially if it's with your own fuckkin body, holy shit man

Can't speak for these guys, but the protests I went to had a safeword to clear the streets if an ambulance was coming... doesn't justify blocking an actual highway though. It looks like the girl was turned around and stepped out too far.
This is why having police compliance and assistance with marches and protests is important, things can get dangerous and life-endangering really quick without it. Shout outs to my local PD for being such cool guys when we did ours, they did a great job. If you're planning on protesting, make sure you get into contact with them, they're usually pretty compliant and understanding. You'll need a permit if you want to lawfully and safely block streets, sidewalks, etc.

There's no safeword for when an ordinary car full of ordinary people who desperately need to get somewhere.

My safeword is popcorn
Wouldn't wish death on any of these guys but climbing over the barriers onto the freeway was an incredibly stupid thing to do, worthy of a darwin award.
Play stupid games win stupid prizes, god damn

need to get somewhere = commit vehicular manslaughter
nice, a genuine, actual lack of regard for human life because you got inconvenienced.

Hard to feel bad for them when they got in the way of a fucking freeway in the first place.
Can't speak for these guys, but the protests I went to had a safeword to clear the streets if an ambulance was coming...
I'm sure you had watchmen at every street corner to make sure no ambulance was stuck in the ensuing traffic jam. And as soon as any was spotted anywhere your clearing the streets instantly caused traffic to flow fluid again and let the emergency services perform flawlessly.
Seriously, how naive can you be to believe that merely letting an ambulance pass if it's lucky enough to get to the source of the jam is enough to have a clear conscience? You're gridlocking entire sections of a city and you expect a safeword to be enough to let life-saving services operate properly?

Need to protest against someone winning the election (in a state which voted for his opponent no less) = cause potentially lethal traffic accidents and prevent emergency services from saving lives.
Nice, a genuine, actual lack of regard for other's safety because your candidate lost.
If I'm driving someone who needs emergency care to the hospital and it comes down to an innocent life or the life of retards who deliberately block the road, I don't think that's going to be a dilemma for me.

Quote where I suggested someone should commit vehicular manslaughter. I said I don't care if they get hit. I'm not going to do it. The person hitting them should get in some sort of trouble. But selfish people doing unsafe things results in outcomes I can't feel bad about UNLESS they affect someone else by their bad decision making.
And, as explained, it isn't always mere inconvenience.
I stepped in a lake once and I got wet.
Signs the system is absolutely broken. If we can't even step into a lake without getting wet then we have bigger problems than letting the annoying orange get elected.
-snip
These so called protesters don't seem to be very productive members of society. May as well let them get hit by cars~
Also turns out a little girl died because 'protesters' blocked an ambulance route. (hearsay) Stop defending these Marxist dolts.
If you are dense enough to block a freeway at night then I don't feel bad for the victim at all. Even if the oncoming vehicles saw the students they may not be able to slow down in time, my car sure as hell couldn't.
It is terrible but I hope she learned a valuable fucking lesson.

It literally does not fucking matter who you think should have won or who should have lost. The election is over and the new POTUS has been chosen by a lawful and just election.
Not only are these protests immature, petty, pissbaby bullshit, but they completely defeat the point of a democratic election. If these people think that they can just undo or redo an election just because they're not satisfied with the result, then they're morons who have no idea what this country is founded on.
People like this need to grow the fuck up.
People like this need to get the fuck out.
I fixed that bit for ya.
Furthermore, these crybabies also have no fucking clue how our government works to begin with. Just because we have a bigot in office doesn't just mean that all civil rights just disappear into thin air. Bills and Laws still need to be passed through the House and Senate before Trump gets a pen anywhere near the things. He can't just issue an EO and make blacks ineligible to vote and allow deportation of Muslims for no real reason.

And in addition to that, it could be argued we were never supposed to select the president, either. A lot of founding fathers really, really didn't like the various publics and called us as monstrous as a tyrannical king. But gee, OP totally didn't give them proof of that fear.
I stepped in a lake once and I got wet.
A long time ago, I used to live in a neighborhood with a sizeable lake in the middle of it. It wasn't gigantic, but it was big enough to take a small two seater boat out if you wanted to go to the deeper water to catch fish. We had rules on what kind of fish we could catch and at what times of the year to keep it from overpopulating/underpopulating. The lake had a drain towards the deepest waters that ran out to a spillway by the highway.
Around the time that I was eight years old, the lake was drained and dredged to make it deeper so we could have more varieties of fish in it. I was amazed by this, because I had never seen it without ANY water in it. Little eight year old me decided it would be awesome to walk out there and just see what was at the bottom of the lake. I went out there one day with my friend. We were trotting along finding all sorts of weird shit. Old dolls, bottles, shit I think we found a little toddler's bike in there too. Most of what we found was too deep in the dirt to reliably bring out, but it was still an interesting adventure.
At the time I did not possess an understanding of thermodynamics and thermal mass. Nor did my friend. At the time we did our little expedition, it was around three or four days after the lake was initially drained. I wanted to go sooner but it was too wet.
My friend and I decided to go towards the center of the lake. Almost like Strelok's trek to the center of the Zone. Who knows what unknown riches we could find there! So walking we went. As we got further and further into the center, the dirt got muddier and muddier. Eventually it turned into what I can only describe as quicksand.
I got stuck. Ahhh, oh well. Guess we can't go further. Let me just take my feet out of the mud and we'll turn around. Huh. Well...it looks like I can't get my feet out. As I struggled and pulled on my legs to bring them out of the mud, it just caused my body to sink in further. And further. Eventually I was up above my waistline.
As Cthulhu's maw started to consume me, I started freaking the fuck out. I began screaming for help. My friend ran off to get my dad. Meanwhile I was waiting for death. I stopped trying to struggle and just accepted it. My dad came running out and he threw a rope out to me to grab onto so he and my friend could pull me out. By the time they got to me I was up to my titties in mud and who knows what else.
Cthulhu's hungry maw tried to take me that evening. The cosmic horrors lying at the bottom of the lake did not get my soul, but they did get my pants and shoes. That must have satiated their hunger, because I was let free from the grips of death.
