dear god
i have to see this in theaters.
not because i think it's going to be good. i just want to see how fucking retarded it can get.
I bet those peg weapons are only used in one scene.
Oh lord. At 1:05 is that ship doing breaststrokes?
The peg weapon is odd, but apparently they are projectiles that double as a sort of ground vehicle as you can see later.
Kinda off topic here now but how do I slow down/speed up Youtube videos, I saw a selection menu for it like the Quality tab once after Youtube crashed one time but now I dont see it.
Just like Transformers I'm going to go see this movie for the CGI and action alone, and I'm going to get just that, and I'm going to enjoy it.
And Rihanna turns out to be an Alien working for the CIA, causing the american government to collapse, and it is left with the KGB and the American Navy to destroy her and the aliens before they destroy Hong Kong.
I love how they've already spoiled that Liam Neeson dies. In every trailer so far it's shown him as the captain, then some young kid comes in and everyone says he's the new captain. What else are we meant to make of that.
I also love how it says 'the toy company that made transformers', as if it will affect the movie in any way. They're just trying to suck in all the 12 year old Transformer fans.
That being said it doesn't look too terrible, solid rental maybe.
I just wanted him to save his daughter from the evil boyfriend. TAKEN 2.
I was expecting a movie about the board game.
I'm disappointed

It is.
Uhh, not sure why you disagree. Should check out the wiki:

Battleship is an upcoming 2012 science fiction naval war film based on the classic children's game by Hasbro

it's the salt
aliens can't handle the salt
salt saves the day
One question, if they can't handle salt, then why are they in "saltwater" eh?
Why would they spoil it by adding it in the trailer
If you really think "showing you the best part in the previews" is all that threatens to ruin this movie, you are one hell of an optimist.

I agree with you, unless the aliens have watertight suits to avoid drowning (or salt) like in the start of the trailer where they fished out the alien soldier.

Extremely loosely based then
It looks like transformers meet water to me
Oh man, from the makers of Transformers. I know I am going to be at the edge of my seat looking at a cluster of polygons.
Is it just me or does anyone else feel the CG is just horribly mangled together in their movies?
Extremely loosely based then

Well, Hasbro, the makers of Battleship, are also the makers of Transformers.
They simply wouldn't be able to make a movie unless it was "loosely based".
I can't imagine they'd make a movie out of kids just unboxing and playing the board game.

They could make a decent comedy out of it if they tried
[editline]16th March 2012[/editline]
Not with kids acting in it though

The solution is to not make movies out of things like Battleship since you can't make a story that is so "loosely" based on said stories without running it into the ground.
That being said i will have to watch a clip of the inevitable "They sunk our battleship" line.
why, liam, why ):
Hahahaha this is hilarious. I can't believe this is a real movie for theaters.
"From the same company that brought you Transformers"
Just because you made a fucking product doesn't mean it should have a movie good god.
What's next, My Little Pony: The Movie?
Sadly, that'll come true. :v:
Bronies packing the theatres, awkwardly with kids and parents.
