I'm pretty excited, but I'm also tying to keep my expectations in check. I'm not sure what the odds are of this being really good... probably fairly low. However even if it was just okay, I bet I'd love it. Most of all I'm happy to see some life in Cyan, again! Obduction, this, and a game tie-in? It seems like a good time to be a Myst fan. Just thought about it again, and it seems like a good possibility that Atrus would be a character in the show, and it would/will be super weird to see someone besides Rand Miller play him.
Moosy are you ever going to do a good game? Like Evil Genious, System Shock etc?
Almost met Moosey at PCGE but I only saw him, I'm so sad
Brutalmoose, I just watched your TH: Ride video (or at least the part where you said you loved THUG2, I'll watch the rest after I post) and I also loved THUG2 so SO much. I played online EVERY day when I was young, and I found out all the little hacks (there were a LOT of them, remember the '2 flags in a row' glitch that would crash your console entirely? and the maphack that brought you back to the THUG1 start town?) and I just loved that game because the glitches made it interesting, and full of replay value. No online match was the same, because the mapmaker had endless possibilities (when mappers used glitches to their advantage, that was when shit got fun.). And I remember finally learned how to get a colored name, and type in color. Since I was young, I didn't know how to type a backslash (???) on my PS2 keyboard. I found out how to, and I got it. I was so happy when I found out how to do that. Then I learned how to use GameShark to edit my character's proportions to stupid levels. I miss that game so much, because nobody gave a fuck if you hacked your game/a map. People just wanted to have fun, and we did, nobody was there to stop us. I miss those experiences. / end nostalgia trip
hey moose. i've had a lot of fun making videos lately. since you're quite experienced with youtube now and probably the most likely person i can think of to answer me on this, i could use some advice for channel exposure. i know that getting noticed is largely just luck and i'd also like to clarify that my primary goal isn't to get noticed and i genuinely enjoy making videos, but i'm sure there's some simple stuff i can do to give me a better chance at getting noticed that maybe i haven't thought of. mainly involving showing people my content and where/who to show it to. i don't really like the idea of self-promotion and whenever i see people try to self promote it's generally frowned upon. but i just want people to see my stuff and give constructive feedback. have you ever promoted your own content? and if so how did you go about it?

Best one yet I'd say, had me laughing pretty hard
Videos like this one are my favorite of Moose's, seeing his boundless creativity in shitty tycoon games is the best I really wanna go to Ian's Magical Land of a Shit Ton of Pizza
I think the 3 story mall with a difficult maze that leads only to a sunglasses hut might be the best mall by far. Brutal Moose this has to be the best one yet. It had me in tears and that ending was the best part.
Oh shit, Mall tycoon 3. I actually bought it a while after launch and never played it since. I also had "Shopping centre tycoon" which, much like Mall tycoon 3 has the worst police AI on the planet. A guy who might as well be called "Nata Chawplefter" stole all my fishtanks and the cop waited until after he robbed the place fucking dry to arrest him. :v: In retrospect I think I was cursed to play REALLY bad tycoon games. Worst was "Rollercoaster world" for the PS2. It looks like this and it's incredibly awful.

That game? I remember picking it up at a book sale at my elementary years. Suffice to say, the usual theme of the game would be.. "Gameguy is failing" "(I forgot the name) bookstore you placed somewhere has failed!", and "(I forgot the name) Appliance store is recovering", so on and so forth... Only 2 or 5 stores that i remember actually remained profitable. Now a days the game lies under the tv in my room... Always looking, always watching...
God that part with the maze mall was fucking glorious.
Oh man, I played this game but I never figured out how to do anything. [editline]28th October 2014[/editline] Wait a minute it was Mall Tycoon 2 I'm a dum dum
This episode was fucking great man. Well done!
I just realized why your malls kept failing, you forgot to add the Small Amenities.
I can speculate what the zombies are for, if not a lame joke. Perhaps the new shoppers appearing on the map are randomly chosen. That is, a random number between 1 and 1000 is generated and this determines things like the age, gender and behaviours of the shopper. The first game lets you see such parameters, perhaps the third one uses them. Now, if a number between 1 and 5 is generated or something, a zombie appears. When a zombie is in the mall, more zombies are likely to appear. Zombies make people antsy and want to leave by altering some sort of desirability parameter. At the same time they have no money and replace an otherwise useful shopper. Essentially, they function the same way as churches in Simcity 2000.
Laughing all the way through and then the end fucking killed me. Beautifully done, Moose.
That is the greatest/most disturbing ending mall of all time.
I am so sorry for not posting here in a while! It's been a busy month, to say the least. I hope all of you guys have been well!
Moosy are you ever going to do a good game? Like Evil Genious, System Shock etc?
I have no idea! Possibly. It's usually more fun to pick on games that aren't that great, but sometimes it can work. My Oregon Trail II video is pretty popular, and that's a good game.
Almost met Moosey at PCGE but I only saw him, I'm so sad
Aw you should have waved me down! But going in depth about something like that and hypothesizing shit isn't as funny, so I opted for a joke instead haha. And hey guys, thanks for the kind words! I'm glad this video ended up being worth the wait. I know it's taking me too long to get videos out, I'm going to try and remedy that next moth. I'm going to try!! Also, I'm trying to come up with a new show format that could work as an easy way to create content in-between episodes that take up a lot of time. If you have any suggestions of stuff I could do, I'm all ears!
Honestly Moose, take your time with your vids. We can wait a bit if it means an awesome, well done video. c:

I meant a "lame joke" on the developers' part, as in "haha look there's zombies in this game isn't that pretty wacky?"

[editline]29th October 2014[/editline] The Jon-tron esque format you have now is really good.
Ian's Magical Land of a Shit-Ton of Pizza needs to be on a shirt.
Ian's Magical Land of a Shit-Ton of Pizza needs to be on a shirt.
I liked the use of fan art for that.

Just explaining why I didn't expand on any theories as to why they exist in my video. I'm sure they were there for "challenge" as well as a lame Dawn of the Dead nod haha [QUOTE=Pvt. Not saying that I'm going to rush my videos, I just need something to fill in the gaps between them, you know? YouTube favors frequent uploaders, and I'd really like to become at least a little more frequent.
Well there are a few way that are obvious. You could do livestreams and then put up the recordings as archives, however, you're avoidant of material that's not prescripted, which is understandable. You could do game promotion for anyone who's interested. Once you get your foot in the door, people might want to more frequently contact you with demos and such. LPs are the most obvious and would consistently fill in gaps, but you need at least one other person to bounce commentary off of à la Two Best Friends. You could certainly revisit some games you've reviewed. Shadow the Hedgehog and Escape from Bug Island might be good places to start since they're long and relatively popular on your channel.

I come back to see if you have any every other week. Create City is one game i'd like to see you review, if you need one.
