I think the joke was more "this isn't really like the 2015 from the movie, things are way more the same than we expected"
But didn't the actual movie had that as part of the story? Especially since Marty was mistaken for his own kid, who was bullied, much like rest of McFlies

plot-wise it was identical, tannen bullying mcfly in the diner, just adapted to a cartoonishly futuristic universe, setting impossible standards for 2015, standards that were obviously not met. That's why Doc and Marty were all confused, the future seemed a little too much like the 80's with a few cosmetic and societal changes

Well isn't that what each decade envisioned the future as?
The 1920s version of this is Metropolis.
The 1950s version of this was the Jetsons.
The 1980s version of this was Back to the Future II.
All representations of the future is taking everything at the writer's current timeframe, and adding futuristic shit. Like Oculus gave birth to a huge VR movement, we have holographic tablet things that allow us to swish and swipe at the air like morons trying to swat a fly.
Michael J Fox looked pretty good for as severe as his parkinsons is
Christopher Lloyd is aging really well
i kinda wish they'd have done something a bit more uplifting

i wouldnt call looking 70 when 50 then being 70 and still looking 70 aging well
but anyway

That's what happens when you let Jimmy Kimmel writers do the writing
jimmy kimmel has good guests but he's the most boring person in late night
it's weird, just adding the specific date of when they went in the movie lead to a resurrgance of the trilogy among the masses on that day; 30 years later
Nobody else noticed how Lloyd seems to have the shakes too?
It's so sad. 2 of my childhood heroes are old...
jimmy kimmel is why 2015 sucks
since jimmy kimmel did the white house correspondents dinner he's become even more pompous and shit
obviously huge props to Michael J Fox and Ian McKellen though

Michael isn't that old, he's like 54.
Seeing Michael J Fox in his 50s threw me off far more than Christopher Lloyd being 77 did.
Doc's always been old.
We saw Marty as a young kid, there's quite a difference.
Still, this gave me a few chuckles.
