I'll probably get this once its like 50% off or something. I do love me some DayZ. Hopefully it optimized the engine a little bit. Right? RIGHT?
"Persona players will love this mod!"
Does anyone know how the variety of firearms is in this? I found this site that stated that there are only two assault rifles and two pistols. That they had to limit the load-out because they wanted to focus on weapon attachments and add-ons. A lot of the appeal of ArmA2 DayZ was the promise of finding a shitton of different weaponry. Not saying that it's absolutely essential to the experience, though. Just curious.
That suicide animation needs to be ported to ArmA 3 asap
Wow they really did steal assets from Arma... I wonder how that's gonna go down.
Well considering that like half of ARMA 2 sales were because of DayZ, I figure they won't mind too much...
Rocket wanted it to be 15 euro but the number crunchers in Bohemia didn't like that. So 24 euro (or $30) it is :c
I will never be able to get past the shitty stiff animations.
Everyone may be joking about the suicide but it's actually a feature that we've needed for a long time. There were several times in the mod where I wished I could just off myself since I was injured too much to move very far and lost in the middle of fucking nowhere. No zombies to even attract over to me, I just had to slowly drag myself around forever until I could find something or someone to kill me. There was ONE time where I actually made it to supplies and got back on my feet and up to full health again, but that was a freak stroke of luck.

Wait did she just kill herself because three zombies were sort of coming close to her? Couldn't she have just, shot them? Or ran away. Or basically anything else?
So what all is different between this and the mod? Seems pretty much the same.
Think of the mod as a tech demo alpha, and the full version as the Beta of the refined mechanics of the tech demo I'm glad DayZ's out, but mostly because the children will leave Arma 2 and go there, rather than pollute Co-op servers when they lose their stuff in DayZ and take their anger out on people
They could have made a really touching trailer from that suicide at the end, something like the Dead Island one, instead they made it to appeal to the kiddy player base I guess
The game looks so much better than its trailer. Normally good marketing makes it the other way around.

Would probably kill you when low on hp.
Wait did she just kill herself because three zombies were sort of coming close to her? Couldn't she have just, shot them? Or ran away. Or basically anything else?
its cinematic...
I think the ending of that trailer was pretty damn silly. The music is over the top as it is, but I don't understand why there was such a focus on the woman shooting herself next to some dude. Is that meant to be emotional? There's almost never anything remotely like that in DayZ, why advertise the game as being 'deep'?
Are there ragdoll animations? Any of the fancy stuff of Arma3?
Wait did she just kill herself because three zombies were sort of coming close to her? Couldn't she have just, shot them? Or ran away. Or basically anything else?
Also, the slider stayed locked back, it was likely her last round.
Wait did she just kill herself because three zombies were sort of coming close to her? Couldn't she have just, shot them? Or ran away. Or basically anything else?
I thought the reason was obvious. I thought it was because her close friend/husband/boyfriend whatever had died and she did not want to go on. (this works in a non rp sense as they could both want to spawn near each other at the coast)
Are there ragdoll animations? Any of the fancy stuff of Arma3?
Doubt it. as far as I remember, its still on the Arma 2 engine, just modified.
It's a shame I'll never be interested in playing it. I absolutely cannot stand Arma II's clunkiness.
Doubt it. as far as I remember, its still on the Arma 2 engine, just modified.
Ragdolls are actually done just not implemented yet. They will be added soon because they will likely cause some bugs right now.
