They give everyone a chance to have their game be advertised, no matter how good or shitty it might seem.
I agree some of the zero-effort titles should be filtered out, but I still think it's generally a good thing to give the small devs a chance to show off their work.
you contradicted yourself, zero effort shit should not be given a chance at free promotion. It should be curated properly to bring out promising games, not babbies first unity game
Im sure from Sony's point of view they can just accept all this crap and then no one can accuse them of ignoring the indie market. Which unfortunately is mostly made up of shit.
The low effort early access shovelware cancer is spreading
I always thought how hard it would be to get a ps4 devkit. Turns out it is much easier than I thought.
Skylight Freerange 2 looks like a 30 minute job in unity, how the hell did this get approved

PS4 is made to be very easy to develop for, and Sony has been super friendly towards indie devs this time around.
Why do the big console manufacturers support shit like this instead of funding new cool games like Bloodborne?
It's not like Sony is losing money or time supporting this?

Doesn't the devkit still cost like $20 000 and you have to pay yearly too? Unlike the Xbox One where you just buy a regular console and turn on developer mode.

$2500, but Sony tends to give them out for free to devs.

Oh right my bad, I meant $2000 ish. Accidentally converted it to SEK but didn't change the currency. :v:
Either way, I wish they would just do what microsoft did. But the PS4 devkit from what I've seen is significantly different. But turning the consumer version into a devkit-lite would have been fun to tinker with.
The Black Tiger trailer was made private.
Obviously Skylight 2 was good enough to stay
I like how the trailer for Skylight 2 implies some big story, I'm certainly curious as to where it's going.
This is especially funny after seeing the switch presentation.
It's like all the shovelware trash is being pushed away from nintendo and into sony.
Im so happy I gave my PS4 away for free. Because it's fucking worthless.
Even on your high horse that comment is still braindead stupid.
HAAA GOOD THING I WASTED $400 AND DIDN'T EVEN MAKE AN ATTEMPT TO MAKE BACK A PORTION YAAA PS5 HAS NO GAMES.
there was a trailer uploaded on sony's channel a few months back that was a clearly chinese rpg that had assets stolen from skyrim and tera
