regardless of the ideas being messy, the game just had a great feel to it in my opinion. it was cohesive in style and tone - it was gritty without trying super hard, it was bleak, it just felt like a real place to me people will say far cry 3 is 'hollywood' or something like "lol dude the action man haha!" but it just felt really empty and hollow to me. it's full of cartoon characters and tonally it's all over the place and there's no sense of style or meaning to anything i guess i'm more of a masochistic gamer - i like a game where it feels the odds are against me, not a dick-stroking mastubatory power trip
Indeed. There's nothing wrong with smacking about hundreds of dudes while Kickstart My Heart blares over the sounds of battle in the dungeons of Unterthronn, but it always helps to have at least some challenge involved to force a change of plans on the fly. So long as the odds against you are great enough to feel intimidating, yet are able to be managed well with the right set of personal skills, you can strike a good balance between Dynasty Warriors and Dark Souls for a power fantasy that has actual bite, where you don't have to be Dark Souls careful but can't thrash willy-nilly like in Dynasty Warriors without some consideration of how to surmount the rising odds.
I still havent played FC3, because my Amazon key didn't work. I guess if I were to play FC4, it would be my first time. I did really love FC2 tho.
blood dragon > fc4 > fc3 imo.
blood dragon > fc4 > fc3 imo.
Obviously Blood Dragon is the best
Fair review in my opinion. It is very fun, but it is just Far Cry 3 with added bits and refined features. I agree with him when he says he hopes the next game will change it up a bit. I would have liked him to touch on Coop a bit more but I know multiplayer isn't TB's thing, but it's a huge new feature to the game.
You are aware Totalbiscuit used to be a professional competitive quake 3 player, right ? :v:
I'm loving far cry 4 so far. Keeping me much more interested than far cry 3; and the hunting never seems to get old. I believe I'll start running out of things to do soon, but I'm really enjoying it this time around. Having about as much fun as blood dragon with the game (if only I still had the lazer arrows though)
