If they give as little a shit as they did with F4, there’s going to be problems, hell the only reason I have so much playtime is due to the novelty of settlement building and the half assed survival mode. Seriously nearly every single quest line is nonsense and every feature is very, very obviously not finished. Even the settlement building is like, half functional without mods. I mean for fucks sake they didn’t even check if the default mechanics were working properly. AI legitimately can’t see anything that is more than one floor above or below them. Including their own jobs. I have to bring this up every time because it’s controlled by one number, in an ini file. Every feature is like this
You know it's fucked up when even the basic things in the game have some major bugs or issues.

At the time there weren't any motion controls but it was still a cool experience. In fact there were even tons of mods to fix the HUD for VR and allow you to fully play the game entirely in VR. But it was not cool enough to make me want to replay the same game again. [editline]9th November 2017[/editline]
I cant wait for the 10th anniversary of Skyrim. Its just gonna be Vanilla Skyrim with a huge "Fuck You" watermark
"After 20 years, we have decided to release the completely original game as it was back in 2011. Pick up the ALL NEW LEGACY edition of Skyrim for only $99.99."
What I really want to know about The Elder Scrolls is why nobody in Tamriel knows what a polearm is. It's fucking weird that there's no spears in any of the games.
Well, except for in Morrowind, where they had actual fucking spears and polearms in the game. Even had its own skill to boot. I think it's less people not knowing what polearms/spears are, and more someone using CHIM to erase them from existence during the 6 in game years between Morrowind and Oblivion.
Imagine an Elder Scrolls game with a legitimately interesting set of weaponry.
Imagine an Elder Scrolls game with a legitimately interesting set of weaponry.
Morrowind. You had Japanese style weaponry that the dunmer were fond of. Wakazishis, katanas, tantos, throwing darts and stars. Crossbows, bows, spears, traditional European weaponry that the legion favored like swords, axes, maces, and hammers. There were staves that you could actually hit things with and not use solely as a spell casting device. Unarmed fighting let you knock out an enemy instead of killing them.

"what skills do you bring to our company?" "I sold people the exact same game 4 times in a row."
i miss oblivion can we get an oblivion remaster instead
Imagine an Elder Scrolls game with a legitimately interesting set of weaponry and that doesn't have the worst combat mechanics ever created.
Daggerfall has a lot of the same weapons
bethesda doesn't even respect their players if you look at how much they dumbed down all the mechanics starting from skyrim. in oblivion, you had skills with governing attributes you could choose, with the option to choose custom classes alongside pre-defined ones if you didn't know what to pick. what you chose would affect what your character would be geared towards in terms of health and magicka. along with custom spells and skooma being broken as fuck, it made for interesting playthroughs skyrim dumbed down everything so you pick a perk/increase skills every level and can increase your health, magicka and fatigue every level. you could be everything in one playthrough apparently players are too stupid to bethesda to understand attributes governing certain skills, so they went ahead and removed that too along with custom spells because it was "broken" i guess. much like their own games, how ironic. it was a highlight, not a complaint. they went even further with fallout 4 by deciding that players are so fucking dumb that no skills or numbers should exist in any form besides special because it would be too "difficult", along with that joke of a dialogue wheel if they wanna get my money again, they're gonna have to take a long, hard look at what they're doing. it's infuriating because i love elder scrolls and fallout, but the way they're handling it makes me mad
I could go on for hours about how much a ballsuck Fallout 4 was. Also, if I see a post about how they were trying to 'push boundaries', I'm going to slap someone. The only boundaries Fallout 4 pushed was how much marketing would it take to sell a mediocre game as great. [editline]9th November 2017[/editline] Bring back the skill system you fucking cunts.
Fun fact: It was 6 years between Daggerfall and Morrowind Meanwhile in the 6 years of Skyrim all we got was the same game released 5 times
That's not true! You forgot about the digital card game nobody asked for!
TES started going downhill after it stopped being a homebrew D&D. #Bringbackthedice
What I want most of the next Bethesda game is just simply better writing and quests. I think this improved gamebryo is fine now as far as gameplay goes, the character movement and weapons don't feel awful in Fallout 4 anymore but the writing has only been getting worse since Oblivion or even Morrowind, and near the end of F4 it just completely falls the fuck apart. Just hire some good writers holy shit
BGS has no onstaff dedicated writers anymore. (Kind of shows in FO4)
This game has been out for 6 years. 6 goddamn years of Skyrim. This isnt okay.
It wasn't even that good of a game when it came out sure it was fun but it was very overhyped [editline]9th November 2017[/editline]
i miss oblivion can we get an oblivion remaster instead
honestly they'll find a way to ruin it completely
Imagine an Elder Scrolls game with a legitimately interesting set of weaponry and that doesn't have the worst combat mechanics ever created.
I'd like to say mods fix the combat mechanics but that's just part of the problem isn't it?
What I really want to know about The Elder Scrolls is why nobody in Tamriel knows what a polearm is. It's fucking weird that there's no spears in any of the games.
morrowind
morrowind
Ah yes, halberds that do no slashing or cutting damage and can only thrust I think it's weird that Skyrim has had such a huge and devoted fan following for the past 6 years but it's very nice to think that a game can have this much new content for it long even after devs have finished the game's life cycle. Special Edition adding 64bit so the modders can mod even harder is a nice sign of support. Sucks that Bethesda still shows their true corporate colors at the end of the day, and they had to cash in somehow with CC and the paid mods fuckfest. Never ends this shit
Fallout 4 didn't have an editor, yet had like, eight writers. Someone made sure the dialogue didn't have errors, as there is one dialogue editor credited but there isn't a single editor credited with that shitfest nonsensical story. I'm not joking, I'm not being facetious, the game DIDN'T HAVE AN EDITOR
Skyrim had a massive hype train following it, plus the game is a typical generic fantasy setting with dragons, elves and undead, you name it. That will give you more casual audience, game also has easier streamlined mechanics and it's virtually impossible to do something wrong and fail at it. Unless you jump off the mountain, that is, if you can climb it. Personally, If I had to point out what are cool things from morrowind, oblivion and skyrim. Morrowind, for me it's the setting, alien like world yet somewhat familiar which made it a blast to explore, much more interesting writing, no hand holding gameplay, lots of mystique. Oblivion, I loved it for how nuts the game was and it was both stupid yet funny, it felt like a spin off. Shivering Isles made it all worth. Skyrim, Norse fantasy, gritty and dark in presentation, the game has some cool art designs. Some enemy designs are also cool. Also music in all games is great.

Morrowind was so insanely unique, Skyrim offered a pretty cool take on Norse fantasy, but Oblivion felt like I was playing Fantasy world: the game. Don't get me wrong, I loved the game, it conveys this insane hype through even the most basic dialogue scene and it's hilarious. Though I did come into Oblivion after playing both Morrowind and Skyrim in that order, so I have a bias.
Think of Oblivion as Mr.Beans LSD trip to Neverland.
You cannot compare Oblivion to dark souls what in TARNATION
It's not at all a comparison and more a matter of an example of a game I know that lets you play a non-over specialized character without compromising so much that its pointless to even do Fallout 1/2 would have been examples as well but I never played them longer than 5 minutes, so I'd have no idea. Though from what I do know of it, you can have an extremely dynamic character without real compromise. Sure you have OP builds with these rpgs, but in Skyrim specialized builds are so massively OP that its stupid.

If you invest fully in Agility and find all the stealth books, you become a teleporting stealth god who can one-hit the strongest enemies in the game from outside their aggro range with a combat knife. It's absurd, and makes the game incredibly boring because nothing is a challenge.

why are they still advertising the game with that fucking set goddammit dont fall for their lies that shield will not protect you from the flames of absolution and level scaling

This is like the Android users who say to iPhone users "lol we had that 2 years ago". People implement things at different times, the PSVR only came out last year so obviously they weren't going to do it 5 years ago
