We, as a civilization have evolved past killing animals this way. We have farms for a reason. It is an exception if you live in areas that do not have food that is easily accessible but this guy appears to live in an area that is quite industrialised so there is no excuse.

they are completely overpopulated, they destroy crops and benefit ecosystems in no way whatsoever and the guy eats the pigeons that he shoots. what do you expect him to do run around with a net and try to catch them and then inject them with some tranquilizer and THEN kill them so they don't suffer?
I thought it was quite interesting. Clearly the guy wasn't being cruel, he wanted to kill them as quickly as possible, but he just couldn't guarantee it. Considering how numerous pigeons are, and that he would eat them, there's nothing wrong with this.
Though the OP was kinda fucked up. "some of them survive the shots, which is pretty exciting."

I've seen some abattoirs and I don't think these pigeons died any less 'humanely' then they would have had they been a cow on a farm dude. They don't just gently put them to sleep with gas or anything.
Of what I saw in the video the majority of those pigeons died within a couple seconds anyway, if not instantly.
I guess he kept in mind variable humidity and wind speed along the bullet's flight path. At this distance he also had to take the Coriolis effect into account.

And even if he didn't eat them who cares, pigeons are the equivalent of flying rats
Cockroaches are a pest, so are rats and i don't see people going all nuts once someone starts killing them in front of you.
As long as he eats them, I'm fine with it. You could never convince me that killing for fun is okay, pests or not.

To be honest, I don't think killing animals for fun in reality is any different that killing people shaped pixels on a screen. Animals die all the fucking time big whoop, as long as they aren't endangered as a result of humans I say hunt away.

Have you ever scooped pigeon poop from gutters? You must fuel hatred of the pest before killing them. The time spent on cleaning the rooftops and gutters makes me dislike the pigeon beast a great amount.
