Hatchworth and The Spine look great.
Rabbit kinda.. I don't like it. It's all over the place. When he was a he, his outfit was unique and simple. Now that she is a she, her outfit is all over the place and looks like something you'd see in one of those bad Steampunk high school con videos.

Nothing at all about her outfit seems even slightly steampunk. Before it was fairly obvious with the old-fashioned clothing, hat and goggles but that new design just seems like a mix of random things that don't fit together or fit the theme.
This picture shows the problem quite well: http://www.flickr.com/photos/trekkiebeth/12136949523/in/set-72157639698435544
You've got Hatchworth and the Spine next to him, both have fairly simple costume designs that fit the bands theme well. Then there's Rabbit, who looks completely out of place next to the other two and there is no indication at all about what the costume is meant to be.
Other than that the new costumes are pretty good, although i hope the Spine still has his coat.
Shit, glad I got to hear these guys. Fantastic.
New Rabbit looks like a Hot Topic hurricane, btw
New Rabbit looks like something from a rave, not steampunk.
Meh, gave the third album a listen. After their second, feels like they've kind of decayed since then.

Did anyone attend the Q&A they had on Google Hangouts around that time? It was awesome, I was there as it happened.
This band really has grown on me.

anime levels rising
That's the look of the new rabbit, oh well, I'm not too thrilled.
These guys are pretty cool tbh
not really big into steampunk but the whole act is pretty sweet
I quite like Rabbit's new costume, but I understand why people might not- it's very 'gothic lolita'-ish, combined with the general colour scheme of SPG, which kind of makes it look like a flurry of 'emo' stuff. But Rabbit's always been an erratic one, and they've said the change to her will be gradual- who's to say this isn't just one costume and she'll go through a few before reaching one she's 'comfortable' with?

Dude, it sucks. Even if I liked gothic lolita shit. She entirely draws attention from the rest of the band with her garish, unfitting outfit. When they once were a band of interesting robots, it made sense and was cool. Throw in the plastic dreadlocks, the giant ears, the out-of-their-time leggings and sleeves, and it's over. It's as if the band lost a bet with that shit.
I'm just hoping they take a huge step back pretty soon.

See my final comment on it. They'd mentioned before that Rabbit's transition would be gradual, and somehow I doubt this will be a permanent thing. Personally, I'm not too fond of the business of the costume, but I think it's... okay. But I still think, it's *so* busy, and *so* out of place, and considering Bunny's prior attention to detail (the whole adding verdigris over time thing), I just really doubt they'd go for something quite so... out there, unless that's the entire point. In which case, I doubt the costume will be permanent. They change costumes every year or so anyway, so in any case it's not going to be like that forever.

There is a piece of art on their website that suggests that is how the costume actually is now:

I guess Bunny has a youtube channel and there's some POV footage

gotta love the spine
I guess I don't really get the costume changes with Rabbit.
If she's trans, that's all fine and dandy, but what's it got to do with the costumes themselves? I can see a man or a woman wearing them, and they've always struck me as unisex in their simplicity.

Well, those are all just their latest costumes. As I've said, the current things Rabbit are wearing might not always be those things. To be honest, though, I'm fine with it- it's not like it's going to change the music at all, it's just that Rabbit is wearing a very different kind of outfit.

It doesn't fit in at all with the bands theme or the rest of the costumes, it looks like it's just a bunch of random clothing thrown together. She looks completely out of place next to the other two, there is far too much colour on the costume and it just makes no sense. Would you think it was alright if that costume was what was used in any of the videos like Honeybee? Nothing about the costume even suggests it's meant to be a Steampowered Robot.
There are some better pics of the costumes at that link someone posted a few day ago. They kept the goggles, but they don't fit in with the rest of the costume either and they look forced in. It's just a complete mess.
