It's almost like I'm in the industry and have a different perspective on this or something absurd like that...
Here is a list of what you gain, as a consumer, from defending shitty video game practices and publishers:
I'm sorry, but this is such a dangerous type of thinking to hold. The truth of the situation is what's relevant, not your ideological hatred of AAA developers.

Being subservient, and overly accepting of corporate acts of greed and malice isn't something ANYONE needs to do. But as you say, it's dangerous to oppose things.

But as you say, it's dangerous to oppose things.
I didn't say that defending them WAS the truth. I said that the truth is what's relevant, whatever way that may go. The post I responded to argued that we should be concerned with what we gain as opposed to what's true.
just because something is true doesnt mean its a justification for what they're doing it is true that the cost of r&d in the industry is going up, but it's also true that sales volumes have increased exponentially and profit margins have only gotten larger with each passing year to say "games cost more" to defend publishers is pretty shitty, you're technically right but its also ignoring so many other factors that it makes what you're saying seem disingenuous or ignorant
I don't know what you're arguing with. Sure, OK, sounds good? I was just pointing out the dangerous line of thinking presented in his post, that of looking only at what gets the consumer a better immediate deal instead of the totality of the situation. Correcting people about the cost of development going up doesn't mean they've done nothing wrong. It's simply one true fact among many. To dismiss that true fact simply because it doesn't gain consumers anything isn't being honest.
