wait what happend,.? i thought they where easing there rules /link?
I just sat down and played through it, but obviously didn't find anything, this certainly has me intrigued, considering they've come out and said that it is within continuity.

Turns out this is going complete PT on us it seems. This post on the resident evil subreddit breaks down a lot of the hidden stuff/events in the demo.
so will this be fps?
so will this be fps?
Apparently there's an axe you can swing, so it either has FPS segments or it's entirely FPS.
we'll i hope it come's to pc then
There's also an option for aim assist in the options menu, so there's definitely going to be guns too.

It will, it's not an exclusive.

I mean taking the guns out of a full Resident Evil game would be silly, at its core it's still an action survival horror series. But if this teaser is anything to go by, it'd certainly be interesting to see how they'll approach the franchise formula with a firm intent on actual psychological and surreal horror rather than just "oh god it's a nasty-looking abomination that will kill me in a grisly way with one hit if i get unlucky"
So although this looks sick and I know I'm the minority. But Resident 4 and 5 are the best in the series in my opinion, and the old games are boring as fuck to play(have not played the remastered original however). I kinda wish they kept the game as they were going but just added back in the horror elements like how 4 played.

RE4 and 5 are great, but people have been asking for classic RE games for over a decade now. I think it's fair that they get a more horror focused game. Personally I think it'd be cool if RE alternated between an classic RE style and RE4 style.
I actually loved all of the Resident Evil games and its spinoffs (especially Outbreak), and even RE6 for what they were, so I don't mind them mixing things up from time to time. Only game I probably loathed was Operation Raccoon City, but everything else I had fun with. Just played the demo of this earlier and so far this new direction looks and feels amazing, can't wait for release!
While the capabilities of Umbrella have never really been set in stone, I'm curious as to why there appear to be Ghosts in this one.
Why is Umbrella being brought up? Umbrella stopped being a thing once Wesker died.
Why is Umbrella being brought up? Umbrella stopped being a thing once Wesker died.
Whoever was behind 6, I honestly forgot their name. I know in 5 it's Tricell. And the zombie shown looked like a regular zombie, he wasn't spouting tentacles, shouting or running so I presumed he was a T-virus zombie and not a Ganado or one of those.
Why is Umbrella being brought up? Umbrella stopped being a thing once Wesker died.
because when the stock market killed Umbrella (lol), Tricell were like "hey we should make zombies also" and bought/stole all Umbrella's leftover samples to sell to random bioterror organizations. so basically all the monsters now are derived from Tricell's or a bioterror organization's experiments on stuff Umbrella did

in the demo, to the left of the phone, [sp]there's a photograph of a helicopter with an umbrella logo on it[/sp].
Well shit, I just finished the demo yesterday, and thought it was pretty straight forward and really short, but I never thought of going upstairs. Guess I'm gonna have to redownload it and find the secrets.
Theory: RE6 was a stopgap game so that they could put all their best work in conjunction with the Resident EVII thing for optimal results
Theory: RE6 was a stopgap game so that they could put all their best work in conjunction with the Resident EVII thing for optimal results
RE6 was anything but a stopgap game considering the budget and effort put into it, even if all we got was a game that wasn't very good for Resident Evil. It's pretty damn clear they wanted it to be big, but having different directors for each campaign combined with the excessive bend on action hampered it severely. Resident Evil 7 probably wasn't even a concept 4 years ago beyond a vague sequel hook of "and there's probably going to be more bioterror out there," but the P.T. controversy and the exodus of its devs allowed Capcom to swoop in and capitalize on essentially cannibalizing its most direct rival in the survival horror genre.
And don't forget about Revelations 2 coming out last year and all, too.
turn's out it will be fps but whatr we saw is'nt part of the main game

Source?
Source?
Source is everyone who tried it at E3 and talked to the developers. I've seen at least 4 different people say that on streams.
There was a different thing at E3? Closed doors I'm assuming?

Played the demo, it wasn't too great imo. Felt like P.T. without all the subtlety. The axe felt nice to use though, hope the combat is good.
RE5 is way better now that the hilarious mess that is RE6 exists. Save for the horrific partner AI and that one section that no one talks about when you go underground and fight, and I don't know how to say this better, but Ooga Booga African natives that throw spears at you.
I think people have collectively forgotten that part of the game

There's not many games where I consistently shake my head at a bad decision like that. I remember thinking the complaints about it being racist were nonsense but that part genuinely seems like it had no consideration whatsoever. The characters being there has absolutely no reasoning behind it either.
The RE5 Gold update on Steam helped the partner AI a bit, especially stopping her from literally stealing every item the minute she sees one.

The big question: any jump scares?
If they have even one I'd drop hope considerably.

No loud audio spooks, though if you lose your guard on some scenes, you might jump from the sudden ghost apparition

Resident Evil 2 had a lot of jump scares, so I don't see any issues.

whats funny is, in that interview, they were making 7 before PT even came out. When it did came out, the director was like, "oh they are doing first person too? neat".
