Gum doesn't cost 30 cents you BITCH
[QUOTE=POLOPOZOZO;33879385]Gum doesn't cost 30 cents you BITCH[/QUOTE] That's how out of touch of reality they are.
HEY VIACOM YOU MONEY GRUBBING PIECES OF SHIT, maybe if you didn't pull half of your library off of Netflix and didn't block every single video on youtube with 10 seconds of your content maybe people would like you better. I have a, fuck everything Viacom policy, since they seem to be bent on fuck all the customers policy. Fuck Viacom and their greedy executives. Maybe if they didn't own 30% of the entertainment industry this wouldn't be a problem, but seeing as there's legitimately good content being produced by them I'm actually pissed. Sure sure, I'll give up some rights to get your content (talking about DRM and having to pay ridiculous prices for Blu-rays even though they cost only a handful more to produce than a DVD), but only if you give up the private jets and company cocktail parties. We're all hurting here, how about you give a little too you assholes.
[QUOTE=POLOPOZOZO;33879385]Gum doesn't cost 30 cents you BITCH[/QUOTE] well there are 35 cent packs but they aren't that great.
My response to Viacom: [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFsoX-Ud-GI[/media]
I guess they should stop expecting their product to make more money than it actually will make, that way they could save a lot of money.
I hate how the first women says it's fine to steal gum, a car and then moves onto a 30 million dollar movie. How they hell is the person pirating it stealing a 30 million dollar movie, surely even if we were speaking hypothetically the loss would be the average cost of a cinema ticket or dvd for said movie, talk about exaggeration, maybe she was trying to remark at the average of total net loss from pirating but that would make no sense given the links she was drawing in her analogy. Also 140,000 lost their jobs, what about talking about how many jobs piracy actually created? Companies like Steam changed their business model to adapt to piracy and look how much money they're rolling in now, they adapted to the market but now the major companies would rather not have that and prefer their nice little monopoly they have. I mean how does this even compare to stealing, it is essentially a form of sharing, which exists in the real world. I mean I've shared books, dvds and games with friends. What's the next step preventing real world sharing? Are they going to put a policy on that afterwards? In all truth this could potentially lose profit for the company who's product it was, but realistically if my friend was not going to purchase the product to begin with he never would have. If I steal a good all the cost that went into manufacturing the product is taken without payment by the criminal, if I steal intellectual property it is purely a copy of the original nothing is lost. Talk about pulling shit out your ass, but then again what did I expect from this.
Funny thing is, they are all talking about how much work goes into their shows and most of the people they interviewed worked at MTV and VH1. Cuz making a show about basketball wives requires sooo much talent
Well Spongebob, its been real.
[QUOTE=DoneZ;33861357]Same here. The riots are going to be fantastic.[/QUOTE] They're going to be absolutely [I]faaaabuulooous[/I]!
Why pay $20 for a DVD to get 20 minutes of advertising at low resolution when you can torrent the 1080p version for free? Take off all the advertisement bullshit. Why pay for a game that has DRM out the ass that hurts the legitimate buyers more than the pirates? Take off DRM. I seriously doubt anyone is suffering due to pirated content. Also how do they know that these people who pirated video hadn't already payed to watch them in the theater? There are also other ways to stop pirating without SOPA. SOPA can fuck right off. If they want to stop pirating, go to the fucking FBI and have them do there job at taking down torrent websites. Megaupload got taken down and almost instantly every single other file sharing website took down EVERY single link that had copy righted material. The FBI works, SOPA will just fuck everything up. With SOPA, the companies will just dictate the whole internet to the point where I wouldn't even be able to post a video like this on youtube. [video=youtube;rhc93ZrgL2Q]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhc93ZrgL2Q[/video] Also 0:58 in the OP's video If more people are pirating the content than paying for it, obviously its not fucking worth paying for it you fuck.
P.S. That video was a huge load of bullshit. Edit: My merge.
[QUOTE=Cl0cK;33856886]Hollywood should start giving less money to famous Hollywood actors if they have trouble financing their films.[/QUOTE] They don't even need anymore.
"We want people to come to our websites, to see our content" Okay this is a problem because every cable network website EVER is covered in stupid flash/java ads and animations and shit. Just a rant, not that it's one of those DRM-like "the company is doing such a crap job people would rather just pirate it" situations.
But viacom lost so much money last year due to piracy! (???) [IMG]i.imgur.com/Lwyvi.png[/IMG]
[QUOTE=Jacinth;36086841]But viacom[B] lost so much money[/B] last year due to piracy! (???) [IMG]i.imgur.com/Lwyvi.png[/IMG][/QUOTE] How do you lose that which you are never given?
[QUOTE=Hidole555;36087214]How do you lose that which you are never given?[/QUOTE] I was joking. If img tags were working the joke would actually work.
Bye spengbab. Nice knowin ya.
Honestly, this is fucking ridiculous. Just money-grubbing corporations who are trying to fuck over the American people and prevent free market competition. I have had it up to here with fucking corporations lately. All they want is money, and it's a shame to see so much potential in the industry go to waste because they just want money. This is the equivalent of a big food corporation making it illegal to purchase the knock-off brands. It's fucking insane. And yet, despite this being the most unconstitutional bullshit ever to infringe our rights, it will still be passed. We all know it. The person with the more money wins, and I guarantee shady bribes and shit will get this through the Senate and Supreme Court. Fuck this country.
