this was half a step short of making the average "I identify as a trigender attack helicopter" comment, for starters [t]http://i.imgur.com/kBQhkzA.png[/t] and then there's the constant barrage of footage of fat/weird sjws in other situations mixed in with ugly cutouts of sarkeesian. While he's reporting internet history he's also just taking the time to be a shitter about garbage tropes
welllll... I'm pretty sure that was the actual acronym used for the panel
welllll... I'm pretty sure that was the actual acronym used for the panel
Probably why the word "queer" is so useful when talking about these kind of things, it basically means "not straight". Also, I'm pretty sure LGBTTQQIAAP gets you to, like, the final boss in Metroid.
i remember making a video on this when it happened, i was contacted by the guy in the thumbnail that he had nothing to do with the con but was merely a DJ video for reference sake OP's video does a real bad job at justifying this. Feminism wasnt really at the time the main point of the con, it was about pop culture and shit tumblr users went nuts over like dr who, supernatural and sherlock. SJWs were at the event and there was discussions on various shit but it wasn't as big as it is now the scamming shit is totally real and the fact these guys walked away with no repercussions is still horrendous
This guy was a head of a committee within Dashcon and his write up is a great look into how horribly managed it all was: http://augustinesycamore.tumblr.com/post/91592502875/here-goes-i-decided-to-write-up-my-personal He has a ton of screenshots of Skype conversations and such. It was really not planned well at all and nobody communicated with each other.
According to Alexa it is the 38 most used site in the world, and 20th in the US. Generalizing of any kind is pretty pointless at that number of users. I don't use it, but it is silly to think this cherry picked video of a low-attendance, massive failure of a convention that had nothing to do with Tumblr officially is representative of the average user. Like person11 said, it didn't fail because "oh that's tumblr for ya" it failed because it was horribly managed.
Generalizing Tumblr is useless no matter how many people use it because the website's design defies generalization. It's unfocused and designed to accommodate whatever you want to see. Like, there's ~SJWs~ sure, but you don't see them unless you follow it, look for it, or piss them off somehow. But there's also a thriving amount of anti SJWs who spend their time on the website getting in to arguments with them. And then there's the majority, which doesn't give a fuck. If you wanted to talk about what Tumblr's about, going off the Trending page? Then the closest you could get is saying they're about Yuri On Ice, K-Pop guys, and popular let's players. Also Dan and Phil from that one youtube channel. Anyway, SJW jokes are really old at this point. Like every time I hear some dude go "Oh, you're triggering me! YOu're triggering me bro!" or go "I identify as an attack helicopter!" I'm like yeah, yeah ok dude, I get it. People been making those jokes for years now dawg. Please, retire the attack helicopter from service. It's not even like, an offensive joke anymore, it's just really fucking old and stupid and I think a lot of people, on like both sides, are equally done with this joke. Not even mad, just tired of it.

Why is it that there is evidence its a scam and nobody choose to call up the authorities.
Why is it that there is evidence its a scam and nobody choose to call up the authorities.
Because no one wants to admit they were stupid enough to fall for it.
Jesus Christ. My fraternity organizes waaay better events than this shit lmao. How can you be so incompetent in planning?
Please, retire the attack helicopter from service.
WOW, how can you tell an entire group of people to just commit suicide like that? What are you, a sociopath?
