Calling the expansions DLCs is kinda... wrong? I mean yeah they're pretty pricey, but for the most part they're very much feature complete. They're accurately labeled as expansion packs. They often add some cool new gameplay and features (even some that come in free updates without needing to buy the pack).
The point is that they charge tons of money for content that should have been in the game in the first place. An expansion pack that includes X was released for The Sims 2 and then X wasn't in The Sims 3, they later released it as an 'expansion pack' for £20. If they're going to add content at least keep it in the sequel, it's clearly just cynical grabs at money that to me lowers the quality of the game and devalues it.

The smooth skin makes an old person still look like a young person wearing old people makeup.
I wish there was a feature to overlay a photo which then gets locked to the head during sim creation. Or better: a feature where you load a photo, set points where the mouth, the eyes, the ears and stuff are and it automatically forms it. Also: If there really is no Create-A-Style tool then WTF are you doing EA?
This is not Dopefish, but this made me laugh a fair amount.
wow...
Im surprised Tumblr isnt jumping all over this video for creating beautiful people or is angsty Tumblr privilege people still a thing?
I don't know if this was a feature in previous Sims games, but I think there should be a requirement to choose like 3 negative characteristics for your sim. For example, one of them could be "ugly" where some people's first impressions of your sim would be less positive; I know the game can't tell if your sim is ugly just by you making the proportions wrong, but if there was a checkbox that you could check if you wanted to play as an "ugly" person, it would be more interesting than being a 100% perfect sim.
Dat interface looks really nice, Sims 3 was all glossy and shit Also search bar = GOTY confirmed
I'm loving everything about The Sims 4 so far. Only thing that kind of bothers me is the fact that the sims look tiny compared to their house walls. I don't know if its just me or what.
You can adjust ceiling height [editline]15th May 2014[/editline]
Im surprised Tumblr isnt jumping all over this video for creating beautiful people or is angsty Tumblr privilege people still a thing?
Tumblr did kick off last year after reports that Sims in TS4 could get fat by overeating and then become unhappy about their weight, forcing Maxis' Grant Rodiek to clarify the situation [editline]15th May 2014[/editline]
I don't know if this was a feature in previous Sims games, but I think there should be a requirement to choose like 3 negative characteristics for your sim.
And it'll be a bare bones Sims game. Just like Sims 3 was despite so much stuff being made for Sims 2, and despite so much stuff being there, again, in Sims 3, Sims 4 will have nothing but the basics so they can sell 19 Expansions, currently for $430 on Steam for Sims 3. It's just so obvious that they're ditching any content from the previous game when it can just as easily be moved over into the new one, and then selling it later
To be fair, it's worked well for them in the past 14 years.
Someone will eventually make a mod where you can expand the boobs and the asshole indefinitely
Someone will eventually make a mod where you can expand the boobs and the asshole indefinitely
Just the hole?
Just the hole?
Yeah, a tube that comes out of it.
