I'm surprised he didn't mention the Chaos Portals/Generic warp corruption while he was talking about the terrible sound design. If you ever made the mistake of standing too close to either of these objects, then the game really did it's best to capture the feeling of having your mind flayed by the insidious psychic tides of the warp. The sound was so awful, and played over itself so many times, that it actually sprang to my mind more than a decade later while I was reading about a Tech Priest becoming infected by a partially demonic scrapcode virus in one of the 40k novels. Me and a friend played this shit so much the Imperial Guard death scream still just pops into our heads at the worst times

Is it weird that the proposition of him reviwing Vangers made me buy that game? Since Darkwood I have an almost irrational trust in the guy :v:
