i legit don't get competitive call of duty. legitimately I don't get it, specially since the only difficulty is that they're shooting using a controller. they all use roughly the same loadouts, there's no real game plan nor strategy considering you spawn at random places, and tbh the only difference between a regular player and a pro player is that they know the maps and can place themselves in such ways that they can avoid getting ambushed most of the time. the accuracy is just some practice, nothing too difficult though since the game has autocorrect anyway. i think that's the reason why people can get to be so unsportsmanlike on it, it's so hard to variate from it that the drama is what keeps it entertaining. in any other competitive game ragers get chewed out so badly.
I spent the best of an hour watching an MLG COD Match between Optic and Evil and seriously it was nothing special, they are in some degree quite quick but like you said they don't really use any proper tactics which makes it really boring for me. With the video I watched, at the tension was building up the commentator was speaking faster and faster but literally to the point it was like he was rapping super quick.
1:12 crying tears of laughter
the hitmarkers are the best
11/10 breety gud
Pro CoD is a fucking joke that exists solely for profiteering, unlike other, actual eSports that are worth something.
Durex doesn't quite fit in there does it? :v:
hehe "fit"
CoD "competitive" immediately becomes a lot less impressive once you realize the game has a locked fov of 60 (not that I have anything against low FOVs in game, but in this context it means that it's super easy to get killed by someone you didn't even see)
i don't know, i mostly play Quake Live and CS: GO. CoD seems on the same level as an eSport. CoD's just easier to play.
i legit don't get competitive call of duty. legitimately I don't get it, specially since the only difficulty is that they're shooting using a controller.
and i mean, all those games are just basically "place crosshair on enemies and shoot to hurt them" there aren't much tactics on this. (scratch that, CS:GO needs lots of tactics)

I really hate 'pro' cod players on console, how can you be pro when auto aim does 95% of the work.

Using sound queues rather than sight certainly helps. FoV shouldn't be a factor if you're playing the game competitively, you should be good enough at the game to just deal with it.
Should you deviate from the standard loadouts of ak/deagle in semi-serious comp matches, scrims, whatever. You will be insulted to no fucking end. It's the most boring fucking thing ever to watch. They all take basically the same routes, using the same weapons performing roughly the same actions because that's the "winning" tactic. If you can't play the game in its entirety, you can't play the game.
Welcome to literally every competitive scene
The great thing is that the competitive level tournaments have adjusted the game rules as much as they can to remove half the fun shit from the game. In CoD4 alone, half the ARs are unusable, the ones that are left all go untouched (except the AK-47 w/RDS). The SMGs? AKs-74u is the only one you ever see. Pistols? Deagle or go home. Sniper rifles? Who fucking cares the scope sway is gone and they only left the bolt action ones in. Should you deviate from the standard loadouts of ak/deagle in semi-serious comp matches, scrims, whatever. You will be insulted to no fucking end. It's the most boring fucking thing ever to watch.
yes, you just explained every competitive fps in history, if you're playing cs what do you see? ak's, m4s, awps and deags(except in cs:go cause it blows in cs:go) because they're all the strongest weapons in the game and give you the best bang for your buck. the only time you dont see these weapons is if it's an eco buy or the pistol round. its not that the competitive scene likes to remove fun from the game, its just that there are certain choices in the game that are better than the rest and will give you the biggest advantage over the opposition
Welcome to literally every competitive scene
no ak no deagle final destination
