So I have a question regarding webms. It seems I can not play some webms. Some work, some don't and those that don't just include a picture of the embedded player itself when I press start. Am I missing a script or something? Or am I stupid and I'm too late, and they're removed from wherever they were hosted before?
If it has no thumb then it was most likely removed. If it just doesn't play it could be buffering issue. Sometimes I need to refresh page 2-3 times before it starts to play
PLEASE don't be a PS4 exclusive.
really doubt it will be. it's an entirely "new" ip so sony doesn't own it, the only one they own is demon's souls.
Unless it's an entirely new ip that Sony owns that Fromsoft is working on.
Unless it's an entirely new ip that Sony owns that Fromsoft is working on.
there needs to be a pessimistic rating

The WebMs work perfectly fine on Mozilla for me though.
Everything from 10-12 in that video proves its a souls game, its nearly identical to the backstep animations and the attack the guy does also looks like souls. Thats excusing the fucking fogdoors as well, I mean that shits a dead give away. So either we are getting Demon Souls 2, or a completely new Souls game. Also people are forgetting, this WILL BE A PS4 EXCLUSIVE, its been leaked that Japan Studios is backing it along with Sony, AND guess who owns the Demon Souls but NOT Dark Souls IP(Those guys do) Japan Studio only does exclusives, and so far, only with Sony. FROM has no call with this, this souls game wouldnt even exist without Japan Studio and Sonys backing, its like how Bayonetta 2 is a Wii U exclusive because Nintendo is the reason that game is even funded. If ANYTHING it might end up on PC at some point(would be way after PS4 release) but thats being ridiculously optimistic and I would not get your hopes up. PC sales both times have proven PC gamers want this shit. Sony needs a big game to get people on PS4s, im not talking huge blockbuster hits like CoD, they need a loved franchise with very dedicated fans, and Souls is exactly that. Plus im really excited to see what Souls game being built and focused on 1 platform will turn out to be. Sure its PS4 but its not like a PC exclusive Souls game is ever going to happen. Also an exclusive Souls again sounds pretty great, no need to cut corners or waste time on porting because of being multiplat. Too be honest, Demon Souls is way better looking than both DS1 and especially DS2 except in the obvious graphical improvements like texture quality and shit. Both DS1 and DS2 are great games and DS1 being one of my all time favorites even above Demon Souls, but Demon Souls has always felt like the more full or at least, most solid Souls game, as in its far more consistent with great design, instead of something like DS2 which has pretty bad boss fights compare to DS1/DeS, yet exceeds way higher when it comes to PVP. DeS may not have as full PVP as DS2, but its a game that doesnt have a glaring weakness and a big strength, its just consistent strengths. If they can deliver with DeS tier level design/lore/atmosphere, Dark Souls fantastic PvE, and Dark Souls 2 PvP, and slap them all into 1 game and you got a fucking GOAT.

Also look at the fogdoor, you can see him using the animation ALL other souls use when you put your right hand on the door and push/go through. It sounds like nothing but thats a pretty like memorable thing of the series, especially the fog doors. Besides that, all if it really just looks like a souls game, the walking animation has that souls swagger, you got the light radius around you for a short distance, which is another staple of the souls games.
Not really. Exclusivity deals aren't usually that lucrative and bankrolling the entire thing is saved for when it's a major investment, not something they'd waste on a niche game like this. Meanwhile From knows they get a lot more revenue from multiplats, especially on PC, and since they can just make a new IP they're not tied Sony at all. Sony would have to put in a lot of cash from revenue they know they wouldn't get from multiplat sales and it doesn't make business sense for them.
On the contrary, exclusives are incredibly lucrative if they sell well. While there's gonna be a bigger cut taken by Sony, From would have paid substantially less to create the game. Breaking even and then eventually making big profit is much easier that way, hence why many companies do it. [editline]31st May 2014[/editline] still banking on that Metal Wolf Chaos reboot tho
I'm laughing at all the people that screamed that it wasn't Demon's Souls/it was fake.
I seriously doubt it's Demon's Souls. [editline]31st May 2014[/editline] I changed my mind now that I see that it's likely a PS4 exclusive.

It might be higher upfront, but it's still generally more profitable to do multiplat. Excluding hardware limitations, the main reasons for exclusives are being a first party dev, getting paid by the console manufacturer more than you think it would get on multiplat, or not having enough cash upfront to do multiplat because it's a small/risky project. Previous instalments have proven multiplats to be very profitable, more-so than Sony would reasonably pay, and when opening it up to multiplat means a much bigger return they'd have to be mad to pay less upfront.

Its just straight up pushing PS4 to its limits and taking full use of its technology because its all you need to focus on. This is a big reason why a lot of exclusives are generally pretty damn solid and polished. Look at The Last of Us as a perfect example, that game is fucking beautiful and its a fucking PS3 exclusive. Sure its 30 FPS and of course it would look amazing on PC, but as a PS3 game its fucking incredible what they pulled off with that old and limiting hardware. But that just goes to show you what a good developer and 100% focus on 1 console can do, and luckily, FROM are a good developer. Im really excited to see how they push the PS4, im sure they got PLENTY of backing from Sony and free control on this one, I remember reading recently that Sony even admitted that not backing Demon Souls back in the day was one of there biggest mistakes, they had a chance to really get in on that gravy train but didnt think it would blow up into such a loved series, especially in the West.

With exclusives, developers don't have to cut corners when they need to carry over to other consoles. Besides that, they can take the existing specs on the console like the PS4 and stretch it to it's limits and still result in something gorgeous ie The Last of Us, Halo 4, God of War, etc. This game has potential to sell great even on one console.

I know I am getting a PS4 100%, but as of right now, it really doesnt have any games, and its exclusive library right now is really meh. But id get a PS4 when this game is out, not getting one just for this, I am getting one regardless, but this is probably the game thats gonna warrant my purchase. Its like how Valve wanted people on steam so they did the whole Orange box thing, it was more about getting people on the steam platform than it was to sell the orange box, and exclusives are pretty much the exact same thing, usually.
