Fucking this, they'd make so much money if they made a rifle rechambered to newer/more common ammunition type, selling it as a hunting rifle or something.

For anyone that wants to see the source, funny to see that the child is nutnfancy's son. Nutnfancy is a guy who reviews and tests all sorts of gear and weapons.
I liked the video though, pretty informative and interesting.
Him pushing the clip in just reminded me of that one neckbeard meme with the guy complaining about everything in his head.
"ugh my knees are cold"
"this gun has too much kick"
"damn these clips are a bitch to reload"
"wish I was at home playing CoD instead"
Friend has an M1 Garand. They're heavy as shit. About double what an M4 is
Loading one is a scary ordeal, too
He should do a video on the 1897 Winchester shotgun, otherwise known as the Trench Gun (folks in the coolest/ugliest weapons thread know my love of it.) It's my all-time fave weapon, a shotgun with slam-fire (hold dat trigger and pump dat shit, a trained shotgunner can fire it faster than a semi,) a bayonet the size of a sword, and a gun so badass that Germany in World War I protested against it because they thought it was too cruel. Not to mention how sexy it looks with dat wood and dat barrel shroud.

Remember: always reload so that your four fingers block the charging handle as the clip loads in, otherwise the bolt will crush your thumb when the clip is fully inserted.

I've never seen Garand thumb this bad. Was his nail made of paper?

His 3 hour video on the M1 Garand is more interesting.

Here's a video if you guys are worried about getting Garand thumb

I'm not sure if that's supposed to be a Garand thumb, considering it's on the wrong hand and he doesn't use anything even vaguely resembling a Garand.

Could you potentially get a thumb bruise from operating a bolt-action?

He's a snoiper, he's used pretty much every rifle, heck he even went to the year 2027 to get the Machina.
Could you potentially get a thumb bruise from operating a bolt-action?
You would have to be doing it on purpose because one hand is for holding the front end of the gun (underhand or overhand grip whatever you like) and the other hand is for cycling the bolt.

I've heard of people pinching their fingers on fixed-magazine bolt rifles when they tried to depress the follower with one hand and close the bolt with another, although you probably wouldn't put enough force on it to cause the kind of damage Garand thumb is without a deliberate effort.

I find that hard to do.

I wish the Sniper in TF2 had an M1C or M1D as a rifle. It would have to be a light hitter or slow-cycle rate, and have that distinctive ping. God damn, I want it now.

By the way, I found out that Savage/Stevens made a Model 87a that looks like a Garand and fires .22LR

It's a cool gun but it's not really that prominent in games so it wouldn't really fit for a video like this.

It's in games like killing floor but I just want someone to do an info thing about it like this guy. Deserves some knowledge.

Ah, the Winchester M1897. My personal weapon of choice for scaring off burglars and trick-or-treaters.
He failed to mentioned the M1 being used in Korea.

It's somewhat prominent in games considering its in tons of ww2 shooters
He failed to mentioned the M1 being used in Korea.
Are there even any video games focused on the Korean war?
Are there even any video games focused on the Korean war?
None really. It's a goddamn shame as well, the Korean War is a fairly interesting conflict.
I'm not sure if that's supposed to be a Garand thumb, considering it's on the wrong hand and he doesn't use anything even vaguely resembling a Garand.
The sniper's standard rifle only loads one round at a time and IIRC he cycles the bolt and loads a fresh round using one smooth movement of his right hand, so I could see him accidentally getting his thumb jammed.
(I am arguing over how a video game character loads rifles wtf am I doing)
Btw I've fallen in love with this guy for his graphic design alone. It's all SO SMOOTH.
The M1 Garand's ping is like the cheeky wink of firearms.
Are there even any video games focused on the Korean war?
One comes to mind, and it's actually quite good
Theatre of War 3: Korea. It's an RTS but on a realistic scale. You'd actually want to use your helicopters to ferry troops, there's no health bars. It's a bit like the old Close Combat games, and has a bit of a dynamic campaign map, similar to the new Wargame

Second video shows how your typical battle's going to go
Ahoy is great
The graphics he uses in his videos always remind me of Watch Dogs for some reason.

The gun would have some odd proportions with the tiny .22, which is about a fourth of the size of 30-06 :v:
