"Are you drunk?" "I don't have to answer that"
These fucking assclowns seriously can't answer simple questions without resorting to their idiotic "rights"
open carry is such an idiotic law
in what situation would you feel like you'd need to carry a fucking rifle around in open view for 'safety'
I can easily understand open carrying a pistol, but a fucking rifle slung around your arm looks sheisty as fuck.

Good thing you live in a place where you don't have to worry about it right?
I can easily understand open carrying a pistol, but a fucking rifle slung around your arm looks sheisty as fuck.
Open carry in general is retarded, it's like walking down the street with a zweihander resting on your shoulder.
I swear any second now, I'm gonna find a "illerminati!!" comment on the video. Fucking hell the comments on the video are retarded.
there are actual people that will probably defend this guy to the death for his right to carry a fucking a assault rifle in public on this forum ie: GunFox and his brigade of pistol dildo enthusiasts

That is fucking dumb.
"you should kill him and leave his family in devastation just because he breached ur rights as americun"
Honestly, this shit is fucking stupid..
What do you think the cops are going to do when they see a teen-like figure walking down the streets of the ghetto with an AR-15?
The cops are just trying to protect people -- because he could have just been a crazy psycho for all we know.
for fuckin REAL?
holy fuck how are people that stupid?! legitimately I think some people should be chemically castrated for shit like that, god damn
also it's funny cause if the guy made a move for his AR-15, the cop would have shot him dead, before he could raise it to approximate for the cop.
Then I bring into the factor that his friend or girlfriend, or wife, is RIGHT BEHIND HIM. So if it broke out in a gun fight, you know that the pregnant lady -could- have been hit
then it'd be a whole fucked situation, all because of a stupid fuckin idiot doing a stupid god damn thing.
If you're going to open carry, do it with a pistol, or something. If you're open carrying, the people that are going to shoot up some place, are going to target you first.
Travelling around with a fucking exposed assault rifle is really stupid. It's basically a show of intimidation to tell people to not fuck with you, which causes fears in others and others might just start carrying an assault rifle as they walk to the convenience store.
Here in Canada I am even forced to hide my airsoft weapons in a carrying case where they are not visible.

Usually in very rural areas or states that have large, open, rural areas or where locals live in heavily wooded areas in where there are a lot of wildlife present. IIRC you could be able to have an open-carry weapon in certain areas in where coyotes or mountain lions are often present. These laws are usually meant for citizens that live 'outback' so that they could protect themselves from dangerous wildlife.
This smart man decides to try to take it out in the middle of a densely populated area, defying all common sense.

Pretty much what I was talking about earlier.
I loved the bit where the camera went out of focus for the last 10 minutes...then she zooms in to get a numberplate number and it's just a blur of colour. Fantastic.
People who pull this shit piss me off.
Stop fucking wasting their time you stupid shit.
In my town it's normal to walk from place to place. I bought a break-action shotgun and carried it home, and since it was an antique there was no way to fit a sling to it and they didn't have any cases left, so I carried it open to show it wasn't ready. A police officer stopped me and asked me what I was doing, I explained, he complimented me on the catch, offered me a ride, I declined since I was around the block from my house at the time, we shook hands and he sent me on my way.

how to properly handle a situation like this
instead of looking like a jackass, and behaving like a twat like so many of these people do in their videos.

Literally the only situation I can see this law making any sense at all

In the forest or something like that.
In theory the law is fine and it isn't abused or caused any problems really. Sometimes you just get attention seekers who waste cops time like in the OP.

Actually here in Canada depending on what city you are in (some have stupid overreaching bylaws) de facto "open carry" is legal.
You are transporting the rifle, as long as it is unloaded that is the only requirement. You could have the ammo/mag or whatever in your pocket.
I don't really suggest doing it though.

i would, i dont want civilians taking the law into their own hands

props for not giving the cop shit, he's just doing his job, I wish the people in the video fucking understood that

How cute, he actually thinks openly arming everyone would help curb murder!
Literally the only situation I can see this law making any sense at all
I could think of several reasons, but most of mine are tied to the fact that I am going somewhere, it's a nice day, and I would rather not drive a car and waste gas.
To be fair to open carry; People who are going to rob a store or some shit usually have their weapon concealed until the incident happens. Usually you wouldn't walk down the street with your rifle unless you were doing it legally. I haven't heard of anyone walking down the street with a gun, walking into a store, robbing it, and then walking out and back the way he came.
It also depends on where you live. Obviously there is no reason to carry a rifle through the middle of Los Angeles, I don't think you'll be getting attacked by many bobcats or bears. Then again that's why it's illegal in California.
i defend the first cop's actions. being a cop is a hell of a stressful job, they always have to be prepared for the worst because any small dispatch could escalate to something much worse. if i was a cop and i was responding to someone openly carrying an assault rifle, i'd react the same way. i personally don't want to take the chance of being friendly and getting shot.
AH yes, I feel so much safer now, this dumb hick with a rifle flapping around uncontrollably and arguing with authority real protected me from all those bad guys with guns they got on the black market.
I'm sorry, but the mind set of American's is disgusting. America isn't the only country in the world that allows people to be armed, but it's the only country in the world to make it's citizens believe that it is their god given right to have a gun no matter what and that they can use it in pretty much any situation.
If you are walking down the street with an assault rifle, a weapon capable of shooting dozens of people in seconds, I just have to ask, Why? What the fuck is the point? At most people only need handguns or single shot hunting rifles. If you need an AK to go hunting, then you don't know what the fuck you're doing. If someone is invading your house you need only one handgun, one shot for every intruder. And you do not need to be walking the streets with that weapon. If I saw that guy I would feel threatened and immediately call the police because I feel that someone walking around with an assault rifle violates my right to be feel safe in public.
But what's worse is, if you kill someone with a gun in a stand your ground case, you go free. But if you kill them with a knife in self defence you go away for a long time. Their laws are all over the fucking place. American law pretty much encourages gun violence. And then they wonder why people like this guy here are walking around with an Assault Rifle baiting cops into arresting him.
It's disgusting.

It's not like this everywhere in the US.
It's not like this everywhere in the US.
that's obvious. there's still a large portion of americans that think that way, and that shouldn't be ignored
