Why is adventure time acceptable? Well fuck maybe because large part of the group liking the show doesn't actively identify themselves as members of a subculture dedicated to the tvshow, and when people tell them to shut up about it they don't get all defensive and go "stop judging us because I like something you don't". I'll agree on that, and I've said it a good number of times before that the major problem is that people treat everyone like they're the obnoxious ones.

Look how many people have pony-related avatars, yet the vast majority don't even make their presence in these threads known. Just because some douchebags obsess about the show does not mean everyone who enjoys it is the same. The stereotype (its sad we have these for internet cultures, it really is) that bronies can't shut the fuck up about MLP is grossly exaggerated and completely untrue. Except it happened in this fucking thread. People automatically assuming that I want to force "don't like things that I don't like" when I'm counterarguing someone supporting MLP. Look at the vid in OP "bronies react". And like I said already, it's about the behavior not the subject. It's all equal and more or less equally rageworthy because the behavior is similar.
Say I like the show and I watch it regularly. I'd treat it as a show that I like. Nothing more. I wouldn't identify myself as a brony. I wouldn't put a pony avatar to let people know that I'm a brony. I wouldn't put that I'm a brony on my steampage. And if I did all those things, I wouldn't be fucking shocked when people would start flaming me for it. And I wouldn't try to blame all those people for the situation saying that it's their problem because they hate the fact that I like something they don't, I would realize they are flaming me for my behavior.

You may be trying to have a logical argument, but 95% of people in here are too busy jerking it to their own hatred of all things MLP to listen to reason. So the argument of "stop liking what I don't like" does indeed apply to this topic.

I have a very split opinion on bronies. If anything I don't like how big the fandom got because the whole purpose of the show is to sell plastic ponies but after watching some of the episodes I can see how some people can like it and by the looks of it the majority of the fandom won't stick their nose in unrelated stuff but like with any fandom there are the ones that never shut up about it until you "get assimilated into the herd" or some other BS now don't get me wrong: everyone has hobbies (some stranger then others) but some people need to tone down the love for the show and this is a little note to the haters: if you're gonna hate at least make a valid argument.
