Honestly, I think it looks good but it just doesn't look like a Metal Gear game.
You can say the same for Metal Gear Rising, and look how that turned out.
I expect that would really fuck with the already quite simple to complete story missions. But if there were some optional co-op ops to play, having some dudes drop in as DD members would be pretty fucking sick. Even if you do just end up joy riding around Afghanistan in D-WALKERS for the shits and giggles.
I imagine the modularity of development with the engine would allow them to easily add a DLC pack of a bunch of extra missions and some free roam (and bonus side-ops) solely for co-op play. The syncing of complex AI is the hard part, but this and the FOBs demonstrate that the multiplayer can definitely handle AI over large distances all acting independently.
Son of a bitch, it actually looks good. I might pick this up and play it with friends. [editline]a[/editline] As cool as this is, 1.) how often will anything like this ever happen and 2.) that poor sheep is right above all that fire while the heat rises. [editline]a[/editline]
Is it just me or does this seem to have a lot of recycled stuff from MGS V?
They're not going to make a full new game in just a few months. I'm surprised they changed as much stuff as they did. [editline]17th September 2016[/editline]
they probably end up calling their team of survivors DD too out of pure coincidence, i don't fucking know actually, nevermind. they could've been time-warped into the future or some shit too, since the wormhole fulton is end-game shit
I figured the wormhole fulton was strictly for gameplay purposes, since the whole point of a regular fulton is that it's a balloon that shoots to a heli, but since they're in a world where everything's hostile and broken, that's not a possibility.
You can say the same for Metal Gear Rising, and look how that turned out.
I never played Rising. I'm cautiously optimistic about Survive, though.

FOBs work surprisingly well. Even if they are a bit shallow. But thanks to Smart Guy Konami, the one dude who would make the co-op ops actually interesting is gone. Could have had a little side story and everything.
It doesn't look half bad honestly. The part with the zombies climbing over each other and toppling the fence was neat, and specific body part injuries was something I wish had been in MGSV originally. I'm willing to give it a chance.
like i said everywhere else, if it looks like a fun time waster, i find friends thatll play it, and it has good pc support i'll throw in a spare $30 for it. still pissed they took support off of MGO3 to work on this, though.
The trailer implies there'll be bigger threats, but considering it's not even fully-priced, I get the feeling they're gonna cheese out on overall effort and originality.
The narrator also describes the enemies we see as the most common type, so there might be other lesser enemies as well as the big bosses (heh get it).
After watching the Fox Engine map editor video from a presentation two years ago i was atleast expecting something more than fucking Afghanistan with fog on it.
I see what there doing there reusing same noises to fool people like they did with silent hill exp all Silent Hill games ( besides the first one) have this sound
You could do so much just simple object placing to make things look new, different and fresh. [editline]17th September 2016[/editline] Also I wonder if the crystals will glow during night, that would be neat.
Also I wonder if the crystals will glow during night, that would be neat.
if they don't that'd be even more sad, since all it'd be is a simple illum/alpha layer.

Metal Gear as a series brings back familiar sounds constantly, even if it feels a little forced sometimes. An example would be the squeaking footstep sound, it doesn't fit when you're walking on sand but the exact same sound has been around either since the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. The sound design for these games, especially V, seem to always be made with care.
Oh it's yet another zombie game, because we don't have enough of those
all i see are assets and gameplay that could have been integrated into MGS5 and turned it into a polished beauty god damn you konami
all i see are assets and gameplay that could have been integrated into MGS5 and turned it into a polished beauty god damn you konami
agree, would have much rather get expansion pack to charpter 4
It really doesn't look that bad for as silly as it sounded when it was first announced. I think I would have preferred a more alien setting. Maybe reuse the world, but make it look very foreign. Something like The Mist or the Upside-Down from Stranger Things. Zombie characters wouldn't be bad if they were part of a larger bestiary of monsters which would also make the game more interesting.
Oh it's yet another zombie game, because we don't have enough of those
I mean, we kinda don't, since pretty much all of them are the same. I can count the number of open world zombie games that have actual stealth mechanics on one hand.
Oh it's yet another zombie game, because we don't have enough of those
They're all early access pieces of shit though. As long as Survive is mostly finished and doesn't suck it will be an absolute gold mine, and Konami will be the king of the co-op zombie survival genre.
so recycled youtube thinks its mgs v
Looks like a reskinned MGS V that would be better off as a DLC
Metal Gear Redemption: Undead Nightmare

I mean do they have to use the Metal Gear franchise? why don't you make it a new game Konami...
Play Phantom Pain's multiplayer and you will see, why this is not as good as it looks.
Man this looks so boring
It looks like a worse call of duty zombies. I don't get it.
