Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Official Reveal Trailer

This is what Battlefield 2143 should be. Minus the story.
Dare I say it, I...would probably buy this. The 'super jumping' looks kind of stiff and silly though.
Wait hold on a sec
A cod that isnt super satured with only brown as its color
And it looks AT LEAST DECENT AND NOT LIKE PLASTIC?
Its the end my friends
I'm really hoping this is marketed as a sequel to House of Cards
You know what is dreadful about this? We have this conversation every year when a new COD game is announced and the same responses usually consist of "It looks like the company is trying to be creative" and "I might just give this a shot, I have hope" and when it comes out we have IGN giving the game the same "10/10 - It's okay" horseshit when in reality, nothing has changed at all. Rinse and repeat this same cycle for next year and the year after.
I have lived through many generations of gaming. All I want is an original idea. I didn't give a shit about cod since the modern warfare 2 release and I don't regret it.
I hope the unique methods of movement featured in the trailer are actually realized in a fundamental way to gameplay.
Also, it looks like there are different classes of units, lights, mediums, and heavy classes. Would be really interesting to see if that was actually playable.
But, I suppose we'll just have to wait and see what happens. I hope they can put a little life back into the series because I had hours and hours of fun with CoD4.
Also, I hope you are the "bad" guys honestly - I'd be really interesting to play a genuinely morally grey character.
Just don't preorder the game. See what other people think. I'm talking about your friends or something, not "Let's Players" who get paid to say good things about shit.

Christmas sales are a good time to purchase it (PC wise), even if the price drops by only a couple %, but they usually squeeze out a [del]steaming turd[/del] DLC pack by the first month's out so you can pick that up too.
Guess they had to force their hand due to the leak eh?
Also as I said in the other thread, Crysis 2 already has the "arcade shooter with power suits" gimmick done.
But then it got all fucking weird with 3 and all of a sudden it was "You're one with the suit, the ancient mayans predicted that you're a faggot in that suit" and shit that i barely understood
Idk it looks cool but chances are the game's graphics are gonna look worse in the released game and multiplayer is gonna be an unbalanced Turd Throwing Competition
If the singleplayer is good though i might consider playing it, but if it's no where near as good as Blops then there's not a chance i'll play it
the thing is that COD isn't unbalanced at all
the game is actually so balanced there's no real reason to pick anything over something else
it's reached the point where balance is actually kind of a bad thing

It'd be killer if the game has you start as the 'baddies' and then as it goes everything gets fucked up and you all turn good guys in a really sick explosion of patriotism and it ends with 'evil never wins'
because i need more patriotic games dammit

ehh i dunno
ghosts was really the only instance of "this time, it'll be different!" and then it sucked
Black Ops legitimately kicked nuts, BlOps 2 was just a meh game all around, and we knew MW3 wouldn't be that great either.
This on the other hand, this looks actually good
If this turns out well, I might actually buy the game. Which would be the first since World at War.
If there is ever a CoD game that doesn't revolve around shooting at a seemingly endless stream of bad guys or pushing forward past some kind of invisible trigger zone to transition into the next event, I'll happily play it. Seriously, that shit has got to end. Why is that even a thing?
I remember playing WaW for the first time and I was sitting in some trench fighting a bunch of bad guys for about ten minutes before I realized I had to move forward. There were no cues, the bad guys just kept coming and coming and coming. I wouldn't have had to shoot a single one of them if I had just kept going. More importantly why is it that in every CoD release, the bad guys still relentlessly shoot your body even after you're dead? That shit just pisses me off. It reeks of terrible programming and artificial difficulty in the sense that the enemies are programmed to shoot you and only you, and nobody else. It gives off the idea that your AI buddy grunts are grade-A worthless (as they always have been) outside of scripted events and only exist to enforce a false sense of scale.

MW2 didn't have infinite enemies, but they reverted that for for reason.
Was that a railgun near the end? This seems interesting but it, like Ghosts, could end up being more MURICA FUCK YEA stuff.

Ghosts was a laughingstock from the day it was revealed. Anyone who actually had hope for that piece of crap was a silly goose.

nothing wrong with patriotism in games
its just when the games arent great that's the issue
Was that a railgun near the end? This seems interesting but it, like Ghosts, could end up being more MURICA FUCK YEA stuff.
not really. that's whats so appealing with the whole PMC approach, its just guns for hire who dont really give a fuck about anything but completing the mission and getting paid.
thats why Bad company 1 was so fucking good. it was 4 grunts who just wanted to get some gold and retire early because it fucking sucks being a grunt.
It's disappointing to see all these futuristic stuff, but no lasers.

No if you go find the threads with the previous announcement trailer on this forum for the previous games as well you'll find exactly the same posts being made for them. It literally is a constant cycle of dumb users who think something will change.
It's disappointing to see all these futuristic stuff, but no lasers.
There's a very good reason why futuristic movies and games don't usually depict actual lasers, because they'd be boring and more so a case of both impracticality if it's realistic, mixed with 'welp, he pressed the laser for a moment, he wins'. That's why Star Wars has blasters and Gundam has beam rifles, among many other franchises out there; condensed particles or megaparticles sure as hell look cool in a semi-realistic sense, and subvert the 'lasers are the future' mindset reasonably.
Order out of chaos.
I'm shocked, first cod game I've seriously thought about buying since black ops.
I'll wait to see the rest of the trailers/previews n shit but I'm definitely interested!

I remember few being optimistic, the rest were mocking how stupid they sounded trying to be heroic.

Um pretty much no one here was being optimistic when MW3 was announced. Ghosts only received praise because of the somber tone of the initial trailer and the promise of new tech but it was very little praise at best.

The last time FPers were as hopeful as they are now after the AW announcement was during the Blops 2 reveal.

So it turns out this image:

really was from the game.
I'd truthfully be much, much more interested in this game if it was a new IP entirely. It doesn't look too bad, but the COD franchise's name is too soiled in my opinion. Sure it'll sell, but come on
The problem with cod these days is, it's not even cod anymore. I tried some ghosts for free weekend and the maps are absolutely terrible, they don't fit into the game at all. They feel almost bf3
In fairness, one of the criticisms of MW3 was that most of the maps played like cramped mazes.
You know... All I want is a Call Of Duty set during the American Civil War or World War 1. They can keep the whole "special operations" and "guerilla warfare" type deal in that, hell the American Civil War could be about groups of Union bushwhackers attacking Confederate supply lines, and in World War 1 they could have some seriously awesome seens about the Devil Wood and such.
Just get us out of the fucking modern war scene, please!

Civil War would kick ass
