This film annoyed me mainly because it didn't explain fuck all at the end like I thought it would.
It was also wierd how they went with really future super technology because then it made the first alien film look like they were all using BBC computers in comparison. Would've been a nice tribute if they had similar looking tech to the first alien movie.
Also the part where she cuts out her uterus made me cringe.
"Ridley please stay with Blade Runner" So true.
Why did it show AvP footage when the narrator said "the best parts of the Alien franchise"? Everyone knows the AvP films are terrible.

Didn't they show the xenomorph in those shots? I think that's what supposed to be the best part, not the movie itself where the shot came from.
I heard nothing but bad things about it before it came out and then I enjoyed it. I really think a lot of people had way too high hopes for this.
The thing that annoyed me the most about Prometheus, was the EXTREMELY retarded crew. I laughed when they all take their helmets off without checking whether the air is clean or not. What moron does that?
They did EVERYTHING wrong.
I think this movie would be great training video in future for soon-to-be xenologists and scientist, giving examples on what not do jesuschristyoufuckinglobotomizedretard. Because in reality, if there's even a hint of alien construct of any sort, the crew would launch the fuck out of there, probably be permanently stationed at the system, said system put into quarantine guarded by military ships ready to nuke everyone going in and out with enought nuclear tipped-missiles to leave literally nothing but dust and gas. Then the alien site be investigated by remote-controlled drones VERY carefully. Any samples brought to a station (which is remote controlled too), after everything has been said and done, the remote controlled drones are driven into the sun, along with station, and probably the people permanently stationed at the system too.
Because jesus fuck it would scare anyone with the slightest knowledge of biological weapons humanity has produced, meeting a race that has had the possibility of doing it for hundreds of years in advance is the worst possible scenario out there for them. Our knowledge of physics and biological form is still relatively limited and we discover something new every year.

ok let's see
1. government didn't send them there, weyland corp did
2. the team was sent to pretty much find the engineers, which is why they brought all the equipment with them
3. the ceo of weyland corp wanted to physically go down and meet the engineers to prevent his death, which is why he went there with them (and why david spent the entire trip there learning languages)
Good movie but it could have been amazing if done right.

I still want to pretend that the plot wasn't so retarded.
I didn't know about the surgery scene going in
I took my grandparents

I enjoyed the movie actually, but why would anybody go into this thread and watch a video which basically spoils the entire movie and then complain about spoilers in the thread?
Honestly, all of those "plot holes" are pretty much because the movie had a ton to explain and not a ton of time to explain it in. Not that it didn't, although much more vaguely than in most recent movies.
Rather than spend a lot of time explaining why all of those little jokes in that video were either a result of misunderstanding the movie, or simply not paying attention; I'll link to a great video that explains pretty much all that so called plotholes. It's like thirty minutes long because the movie has attracted a lot of the dumber sci-fi fans but just the first ten minutes gives a pretty good idea of what they're on about.

It's still nice to keep spoilers in spoiler tags. It costs you what, 20 calories to type the tags?

That guy was talking out of his ass on a few of those. My problem with the film is that damn near everyone acted like an idiot with absolutely no regard to self-preservation or common sense, and that video didn't do anything to change that.

[sp]Most of those "plotholes" are explained directly by the movie. The rest is retarded. "why did they run in a straight line?" "because they were panicing, durr", dumbest explanation ever. Have you even seen people trying to outrun a car, a train or a falling tree outside looney tunes? They don't explain why she doesn't tell anyone who wasn't in the room with weyland about the squid (like janek) and why nobody does anything about it, there is a fucking alien organism on board, maybe it's going to grow into a monster the size of a cow, who knows? Also bullshit answer to why the engineer goes after shaw, because he wouldn't make it to the other pyramid? You mean there is no other helmet on the ship or in the first pyramid that he could use? Shaw is just an insect to him, this super evolved being jeopardizes his mission for revenge. Also retarded explanation on why the biologist runs away? Didn't they make psychological profile on the crew? It's a pretty important mission for weyland. Did they know he's gonna run away when he sees dead aliens but he'd try to pet living aliens? Why take a guy like that on the mission in the first place? Also nice explanation how they get lost in the pyramid, "all the corridors look the same", didn't they have a map? And the storm didn't interrupt the communication BEFORE they got lost but only AFTER. Great explanation on why the biologist wants to pet the alien cobra "he wants to show off"... Seriously why take a guy like that on any mission? "Cleaner than earth" doesn't mean that there are no bacteria or microbes, and unless the scanned inside the pyramid that has different atmosphere, they wouldn't know. We are food for creating xenomorphs? You mean they waste millions of years on making xenomorphs? Why not just clone people and impregnate them? You know, matrix style. [/sp]
This entire video is just a mix of questions that are answered in the movie and dumb explanation for plotholes.

Sometimes they spoke out of their backsides, such the [sp]deacon looking different because it was born of an engineer, by their logic it should be larger than the regular xenomorph. It was created through a completely different kind of facehugger anyway.[/sp] Also they didn't answer a few things, such as [sp]how did the engineer walk from his crashed ship to the cabin with no life support?[/sp] I agree with a lot of the points though.
It's fun to watch but you'll have a lot of questions by the end of it.
Watch the deleted scenes.. its not really ment to be a prequel to Alien by the way, it just likes to hint towards it.
Watch the deleted scenes.. its not really ment to be a prequel to Alien by the way, it just likes to hint towards it.
I think the problem is that we shouldn't have to watch deleted scenes for the movie to make proper sense. Though nothing I can imagine is going to redeem stuff like:
[sp]1. Fitfield and the biologist getting lost, despite having a 3D map of the entire facility.
2. The biologist being terrified of a DEAD alien body, then treating what is clearly an alien cobra like it's a kitten.
3. Vickers and Shaw running away from the destroyed ship, rather than running to the side like instinct would dictate.
4. How, exactly, did anyone survive being outside the ship during the 'metal-storm'?
5. Shaw being able to run around after a Cesarean. Also, nobody thought to mention the alien squid?
6. The makeup on Guy Pearce is unforgivably bad. No deleted scene is fixing that.[/sp]
The worst part of the movie was when they killed off Charlize "The Ron" Theron by having a giant alien donut roll over her.
The first half of the movie was pretty cool, it raised a lot of interesting questions and whatnot
Then the second half was a shitty horror movie.

Every professional in that movie was terrible at their job.
Although that Honest Trailer vid pretty much pointed out how completely flawed this movie is, I still think it's a great movie to watch and it's definitely worth seeing if you haven't seen it yet.
Stupid or not, I really did enjoy Prometheus.
I saw it really late and was with a buddy.
We riffed on the movie and had a hell of a time.
Prometheus was such a terribly written film, which is a shame, because everything else about it was so good. And of course, the writing is like the very foundation of a film so ye the film's terrible.
I watched it last night, it has plot holes, I managed to puzzle some events but it is a mess, writing wasn't good, but still it has all different things sci-fi movies need. I sort of liked the movie except for writing, the part when they run away from falling engineer half bitten doughnut ship in straight line can be explained by the fact they were women, scared, ship was massive and also the way they directed it to make it a flashy scene to show off special effects, but still it was not a good thing.
