I really hope they actually try to follow the original story at least a little bit. I'd hate to see the end of the movie just be thanos almost defeated or whatever by the power of avenger teamwork.
As much as I like all the super heroes, I want some of them to die in this. It won't make any sense to me if everybody survives Thanos after all this build up
I wonder if New York getting fucked yet again will actually play some sort of role in the TV shows, I mean it's doubtful but I'll really like some sort of connection that goes beyond easter eggs.

it would be nice but I couldn't see anyone really dying outside of maybe someone like bucky
I'd love marvel if they actually killed off some, but its a business, and they want to make more movies staring x or y character. Unless people start making death/resurrection movies.

That would actually be pretty funny for the movies to straight out say the shows aren't canon
Tony Stark dies in the end of the second movie, calling it now
2 things.
The way they portrayed Spider-Sense is awesome
Chris Evans. Fuck.
I hope we get to see the military actually trying to do something instead of ignoring the bad guy and then trying to nuke NYC for some reason.
The Brolster is looking real good here. Marvel has been killing it lately.

I mean, if the military acutally responded with all it's might Thanos would be fucked. The heroes might be powerful but they seriously don't dish out nearly as much punishment as a modern army can, let alone the most powerful one on the planet.
The fact people like Spidey, Cap, Winter Soldier and Iron Man can cause serious problems for the big purple man means if a single AC 130 bothered to show up, Thanos and his army's shit would be completely ruined.
Alright this trailer is hype as fuck, but my one concern this all seems like a lot to cram into one movie.
I agree. This movie really could have used the original 2-part plan.

If an African Army running with swords without a formation can be a significant threat I want to see Marines fucking ruining Thanos.
Hell I'd settle for the military getting wrecked, at least then it'd be like "hey guys we're in a country with a military" which Marvel movies seem to not remember after Iron Man.

Its still 2-pats, its just the second isn't called Infinity War Part 2 because that naming scheme bombed
Unpopular opinion:
This looks exactly like every other marvel movie and I wish studios would start exploring other ideas because at this point the dead horse you're beating is just a little blood-puddle. I could forgive it way more but all of these are pretty much the exact same movie
New york or L.A.>Aliens happen>the only one(s) who can stop them are the superhero(es)>the aliens almost win>the superheroes defy all odds and come out on top>small setup scene for another sequel
Now just slap iron man in there somewhere and you've got a marvel movie
Am I the only one who is extremely tired of this concept?

There are plenty of legitimate criticisms for superhero movies but these are awful
"New York or LA" - except not at all?
"Aliens happen" - would've been on point if you said "evil businessman" but most of these flicks aren't about aliens except for the ones, y'know, in space
"The only ones who can stop them are the superheroes > the aliens almost win > the superheroes defy all odds" - Uh, you just described some basic plot progression, how is this a criticism? Take almost any damn movie. Shawshank Redemption, Toy Story, The Dark Knight, The Matrix, L.A. Confidential, Rocky, Lord of The Rings. Whoda thunk, the protagonists are usually the only ones with the right set of skills/the right attitude to do [thing]; the odds are against them and they look like they'll fail; they prove their worth at the end.

most of the characters will probably just have cameos like [sp]dr strange[/sp] in thor ragnarok

Well Marvel doesn't seem to take any risks anymore. Everything is by the book Marvel at least in terms of their movies. They also can't seem to learn from their mistakes.
I haven't seen Thor yet but I have seen Spiderman and Guardians 2. I thought Guardians 2 was awful and incredibly boring and thought the plot was subpar with an incredibly weak villain and cheap jokes along with music tracks every 15 seconds for some reason.
Spiderman was much more enjoyable for me but even then Vulture was a very weak villain just like any other Marvel film.
Doctor Strange also was a bit forgettable but I remember enjoying it much more than Guardians. I barely remember the Villain though. Same goes for Ant-Man.
Marvel seems to make really enjoyable films but not very memorable ones. The last good memorable Marvel film I saw aside from Spider-Man was Civil War, then the original Guardians before that one. The series has become very generic and by the books that it seemed to lose originality and creativity along the way. And a mass amount of CGI does not make up for its lack of creativity. You can have amazing looking set pieces but still make an incredibly forgettable film (Guardians 2).
I've found Logan and Deadpool much more enjoyable than a lot of Marvels recent films. Same goes for their TV properties (though admittedly been lacking with Iron Fist and Defenders, but I enjoyed Punisher).

I didn't realise the movie was already released, how else could you know the plot of this is exactly the same?

Thor is the best comic book movie out, yet, or since the originals.
It's just a damn good movie.

Also it is a valid argument, in a sense. Logan is a western. New Mutants is going to be horror. They're super hero films but have a different spin to them.

If we're complaining about shit, I actually felt my eyes glaze over when the action shots of the Wakandans and the aliens collide on the hill side and they still have no idea what Natasha is supposed to do or be.
I wonder what their end credits will show.

The whole point of Thanos is physical shit doesn't work on Thanos without the gauntlet. He literally runs a galactic empire and has access to infinite logistical throughput, so maybe you missed the scene where he was a fleet bigger than both the Galactic Empire and Rebel Alliance made of disposable troops, not even the good stuff waiting to pound earth flat.
Now give him the gauntlet.

Oh man I thought Vulture was fucking great. I mean if you mean weak as in physically not as threatening as the other heroes, then sure, but for that movie, and against a teenage spiderman, he was fucking perfect. Both a threat to him as a superhero, and [sp]to his personal life. Like, the intimidating dad of the girl he likes was an absolutely perfect antagonist to a teenage lad.[/sp] He was given decent motivation and character development, and because the movie was small in scale, there was a bit more tension than "Going to destroy the woooorrrld" like in Doctor Strange or something.
Also Michael Keaton is awesome.
Why does Thanos look so different? Before, he had a wider jaw, but in this trailer, he just looks like a beefed up Bruce Willis.
