Boycotting, I'm irate
As much as I like all the super heroes, I want some of them to die in this. It won't make any sense to me if everybody survives Thanos after all this build up
In the original story, Thanos kills everyone.
As in, literally everyone except for like Doctor Strange, Adam Warlock, Silver Surfer, Doom, Thor, and Hulk. Iron Man gets his head ripped off, Spider-Man is beat to death with a rock, Cap gets bitch slapped to death, Cyclops gets suffocated, in general just a massacre.

The way they portrayed Spider-Sense is awesome
Chris Evans. Fuck.
Every time i see the words "chris evans" i misread them as "rich evans" and it makes me fucking jump every time :v:

His supersonic laughter shatters Thanos' eardrums, giving the Avengers an opening

Somebody please make a poster replacing Cap with Space Cop.
Well Marvel doesn't seem to take any risks anymore. Everything is by the book Marvel at least in terms of their movies.
They got a relatively unheard of director to direct Thor 3 and, essentially, reinvent the character. That was a pretty big risk.

Taika Waititi wasn't an "unknown", but he certainly had never helmed a large film before. They did really take a risk with him and it paid off cause the movie is damn good.

Double Fuck
Is it worth me still watching Ragnarok in cinemas, or is it really close to being released on DVD?
Is it worth me still watching Ragnarok in cinemas, or is it really close to being released on DVD?
I'd recommend checking it out in theaters still. Was really enjoyable.
I loved seeing huge sculptures of jack kirby drawings of the hulk and beta ray bill and other fuckers on the front of the stadium in Ragnarok
There's a bunch of cool shit like that in the movie
I hope some of the villains come back to help besides Loki
Like Vulture would deff help. Hydra, what's left of it, would probably be willing to stop evil aliens too

But that's a different Black Widow to the one in the films. That doesn't make any sense.

She became a wanted fugitive after Civil War.
So it kind of does. I expect her to go by that alias, even.
There are plenty of legitimate criticisms for superhero movies but these are awful
"New York or LA" - except not at all?
"Aliens happen" - would've been on point if you said "evil businessman" but most of these flicks aren't about aliens except for the ones, y'know, in space
"The only ones who can stop them are the superheroes > the aliens almost win > the superheroes defy all odds" - Uh, you just described some basic plot progression, how is this a criticism? Take almost any damn movie. Shawshank Redemption, Toy Story, The Dark Knight, The Matrix, L.A. Confidential, Rocky, Lord of The Rings. Whoda thunk, the protagonists are usually the only ones with the right set of skills/the right attitude to do [thing]; the odds are against them and they look like they'll fail; they prove their worth at the end.
Except imagine if shawshank had four sequels and they followed almost the literal exact same plot progression and then pretty much every prison movie after that is made the same way.
I'm literally just saying using the exact same story every time is uncreative and boring as shit unless you're just watching for one-liners and explosions (Which, to each his own but it doesn't make the story any less shit)
Why does it have to be aliens every time? Is it that hard to think of some new, creative enemy or supervillain?
The difference between all of those movies and marvel movies is that they brought something completely new and interesting with them.
Also why does every movie have to follow that same plot progression to a T? Most of the most memorable movies I've watched have gone beyond that model to at least the point of not being completely fucking predictable, imagine if a movie like The Departed had done the same, would the movie even be possible to make?
I'm just saying how much these movies seem to not try and take risks or deviate from the same plan. Every time I watch one of these I feel like I've almost watched the exact same movie, its akin to what call of duty does with their games
Say whatever you like but if you aren't willing to admit these movies are incredibly similar then you're in denial

Not all of them, no.
Theres a certain level of formula, yes, but then you have stuff like Winter Soldier and Civil War, or Guardians, or Thor Ragnarok
Why does it have to be aliens every time? Is it that hard to think of some new, creative enemy or supervillain?
Because its adapting a story from the comics in which the main villain was an alien from Titan named Thanos on a quest to win Mistress Deaths love by obtaining omnipotence and balancing the universe by killing half of all life inside it.
Also, besides Avengers 1, this, and Guardians (whoa a movie set in space has ayyliums whoda thunkit), what movie uses aliens as the main villain?

If it goes the way of the comic, which it seems to be, it'll be taking a number of risks in relation to the other MCU films. Like making the genocidal villain the protagonist, and having him murder all of the beloved heroes near effortlessly.
I want Chris Evans to speak sweet nothings directly into my asshole.

Avengers, Avengers 3(this one), and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Those are the only movies with aliens.
I don't mean to be a dick, but you can't really shit all over something when you have the basic premise that your argument is constructed around wrong.

I dont even get his point.
Like, yeah, Thanos is an alien, he's the main character of the Infinity Gauntlet story, no shit.
Thaanos looks like Coach

Why does Iron Man look like he was imported straight from the PS3 game?

That's actually from the trailer.
Damn that Spidey-suit was sick. Better than that last one.

Because the movie isn't finished and the visuals are not final?

CG and visuals are worked on until the very last minute (quite literally)
