'Nuff about da beakies, whens we gettin' an ork game?
Given that Streum On managed to make an awesome trailer with the least appropriate trailer music for a 40K game, I would imagine that hope isn't completely lost with the future of 40K video games.
If the game is anything like I think it will be, I couldn't give half a shit about the music in the trailer. It's by the same devs as EYE DC which was supposedly really good. My dream 40k game is still a battlefield-esque fps where you play as guardsmen, they could even do a Republic Commando style thing where you're stormtroopers
So, this is by the guys who did EYE! Looks like there might finally be a Warhammer 40k game actually worth playing.
Best 40k Song Also I really hope this game is great
Really hyped for this. Streum did a damn good job on E.Y.E considering the complete lack of budget and the ambition of the project. I expect great things from this. [SP]Also if this succeeds, possible E.Y.E remake/sequel maybe?[/SP]
[SP]Also if this succeeds, possible E.Y.E remake/sequel maybe?[/SP]
EYE: Divine NecroCybermancy? :v:
It's very reminiscent of a spaghetti western style "last stand" with a small group of close brothers-in-arms, sort of Alamo-esque
It's funny because the Deathwing(the guys in the trailer) have Native American influences. [editline]14th February 2015[/editline] I really liked that trailer. It had a lot of personality.
For once its not a shitty mobile/tabletop/turn based chess 40K game. That's the problem with 40K, its got a shitload of terrible game devs doing these, rather than the bigger companies doing 40K games. I'm glad its something different now. Also, it could actually work with multiplayer, imagine something like L4D2 versus, where you get to play as some special units within the tyranids.
the guy who made the emperor text-to-speech series made this
The music may be unfitting in terms of the universe, but damn it all if it didn't make for a kickass trailer.
if we can expect something of the caliber of Space Marine, i'll be quite pleased
This trailer took me from "ambivalent disinterest" to "unexpected hype". Going to wait for first impressions/some gameplay videos but if this is well executed with ~5 player co-op I'll be playing it for days on end.

All custom weird shit, even the "regular suit". Green plasma gun Weird ass fucking sword with english aka low gothic which wouldn't found anywhere near a command weapon, much less a diamond on the end to get stuck in shit. Genestealers showing fear, which they are physiologically, much less psychologically incapable of doing since space hulk/space crusade was ever a thing, ever. But nah, let's be incensed about the "non-appropriate music" instead.:pwn:

It's also possible that the lack of official outfits hints towards player customization, though that is yet to be seen.
Kinda funny that everyone got all butthurt at the music and missed:
Boy, I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder!
To be fair, the Imperium does give reverence to literally anything that survives from the past... If mariachi music managed to get through the millennia, then they'd totally be all over that.

No idea what you mean by "chapter approved outfit" as there isn't such a thing and the suits get customized all the time. I see no major difference between the suits there and the Tabletop versions. The green Plasma cannon is most likely meant to be a different weapon/variation as there is a blue coloured plasma cannon in the same video, even in the same shot at the end actually. That "weird sword" is most likely a force sword as it's being used by a Librarian, having english/low gothic on it i can sort of understand being a 'complaint', but it isn't a problem at all. The diamond shape at the end is something several Dark Angel tabletop models including Ezekiel, Belial and even the Deathwing terminators these are based on also have. There are also many pieces of W40K art that have something similar to that sword. I don't see any Genestealers showing fear in that trailer, if you mean right after the green plasma cannon then there's a difference between "showing fear" and covering its eyes to try to see when there's an extremely bright thing right infront of it. I thought you knew more about W40K than that.
I thought the music was a bit shit but I do love me some 40k themed violence, especially in interactive form.
Boy, I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder!
I mean, what are we to believe, that this is some sort of magic plasma gun? [editline]16th February 2015[/editline]
There's also a blue plasma cannon at the beginning, and the end, so I dunno if the green one holds some special purpose, or background. Always wanted to get into 40k, but the lore is intimidating as fuck Still though, I want to play this because I find 40k cool on a surface level and I loved E.Y.E It's gonna be better than fucking chess, that's for sure.

If you can play as 'nids I'm sold. Not that I'm not already hyped, I just like playing as the hivemind.
Not a single indomitus suit to be found on the terminators; not a single chapter approved outfit.
Green plasma gun
Likely a relic weapon or custom, green plasma cannons are a thing.
Weird ass fucking sword with english aka low gothic which wouldn't found anywhere near a command weapon, much less a diamond on the end to get stuck in shit.
Thats a Blade of Caliban, they are all shaped like that and are exclusive to the Dark Angels chapter. As for the Low Gothic part, youre sort of right about why the engraving isn't High Gothic. But the answer to this is so that it looks nice to people not familiar with 40k And heres an official picture of a Deathwing Terminator squad straight from GWs site Note the GREEN plasma cannon and funky sword, as well as the heavily modified armour, likely artificier, since they're the elitest of the elite 1st company
they should have capitalized more words on the sword :v:

If you'd bother reading my other comments, you'd see I'm rather fine with everything in the trailer, including the music, and the fact that streumon tends to play everything tongue on cheek.
USR
They don't need it, and haven't since 3rd ed, because it's in both fluff and cohesion rules. They literally don't have the equipment to experience fear, that's been standard since Jes redesigned them. That's actually the only fuck up present in the video, the green plasma stealer's expression is rather clearly animated, and one of the assault canon stealers also clearly runs away. A brood retreating will be eating your feet from another direction five minutes later.
are a thing
They haven't been a thing since Rouge Trader.

A Genestealer covering it's eyes from a bright light does not mean it is scared. A Genestealer moving out of the way does not mean it is scared. Green plasma weapons are a thing. Here's a green plasma gun in some official W40K art:
