well, time to implement an on-site patreon-like initiative. grant me your non-hard earned shitcoins and i will sell your the early access to the thread that will get him banned.
Well there certainly isn't any current policy against real-world trading/third-party exchange for FP coins at the moment.
How about being able to pay for unbans? Maybe not self-unban but nomination and crowdfunding like the proposed short ban system.
I like the concept of coins being a way of stongly endorsing opinions and such, putting one's money where someone else's mouth is. "Crowdfunding" targeted bans on the other hand, I am fully against. That's what rules (and moderators) are for; if someone's operating within them then they should be free to participate. I could see this being used against a lot of people I, along with a majority of users, tend to really disagree with. I don't want to see people getting piled on just cause of difference of opinion. However, how we express our opinions should be moderated, and if someone is doing so in a way that qualifies as belligerent or passive-aggressive, that should have some consequence so as to encourage constructiveness.
So I propose a priced rating in the same fashion as giving coins, this could be the "Asshole" rating or perhaps a new "Cunt" rating. If a post receives enough, or enough at a high enough rate, it could be automatically flagged for moderation. Basically "pay"-walling the report function.
I suggest adding something like the Gifting Man From Gifting Land hat from TF2.
In the game, the one who gives the most gifts in a day out of all of the players of TF2 gets a special hat for 24 hours. Perhaps something similar could be done with coins? The one who gives out the most coins in a day could maybe get a different colored name or a boarder. Or a hat.
Let users run coinhive if they so desire so they earn coins for garry that are worth money in exchange for coins that get you bigger avatars.
What's being restricted? It just gives some minor weight to the dumb rating. If you don't wanna pay to rate someone dumb you can just respond with an actual reply explaining why it's dumb and actually engage with the discussion.
These posts sum up my thoughts as well. At this moment we're locking away actual profile customization behind it, and it's stupid.
coins for silly shit on someones post like sparkles or poo emojis all over.
Instead of paying 20 coins for one time upload for a background avatar, can it unlock uploading an avatar for X amount of time, for say like 24 hours or so?
This would allow people to put up different ones to see what they like, readjust ones that didn't upload properly, and maybe let others give feedback ("that avatar is too nsfw"/"too flashy") without having to constantly pay 20 coins every time an adjustment is needed in one day.
would this be similar to the snow on the roadmap, ie more coins = more poop emojis on a post
We should have coin lootboxes with rare 1-week ban power drops. 5.99 each.
