Dont think I've seen anyone rate diamond on any post
I'm actually surprised "asshole" is a rating. Back on Oldpunch, I got banned for a month and put on "last chance" for losing my temper and calling someone one, and yet here we are institutionalizing it with a rating.
theres currently a furry and hentai porn thread running
Child molester by a long shot. It's funny and all but that's it.
On a side note, I really hate the emoji for sympathy. It doesn't look like a sympathetic face, it looks like someone experiencing severe nausea.
I got rated a diamond by High Voltage.
Only time I've seen it though.
I think 10 coins is a lot however. It should be 5 at the most, probably would have more people rating it then.
Could have a different rating to give people five coins. Like a ruby or something, and keep the diamond rating for giving out more coins.
Its just another way of saying "who cares?"
I think it's better to minimize the number of ratings, not add more
It takes a god-awful long time to make 10 coins anyway, so people aren't going to give them out willy-nilly. Making the limit 5 instead of 10 will encourage people to use the rating a bit more.
The only other option would be to eliminate diamond and make the x1 Coin rate possible to rate repetitively, or at least to a max cap.
Fuck that. Fill the bottom of every post with ratings bra.
But yeah being able to give as many coins as you want honestly makes the most sense. Makes more sense than the current system tbh.
make it a bronze, silver & gold medal respectively
We need a coal rating that takes a coin away from both people
Imo this is a better emote for it:

On occasion, I've wished for a "Gross" rating and a "Confusing" one. Other than that, I wholeheartedly agree with reducing/consolidating the amount of ratings to be less specific and cluttered.
I made a thread talking about the order the ratings are listed in, have a look
A new ratings order
I don't really want the generic looking Emoji Movie emotes for Facepunch
We're so much better than that, and we have an extremely creative community. There is no excuse really to not have facepunch exclusive emotes that reflect the forums and its community.
Since the previous dumb rating was due to the limitations of using an existing art set, maybe the new Dumb (if it returns) could be a trash can instead.
I mean just because it was a limitation then doesn't mean now that it isn't they shouldn't use it. If it ain't broke why fix it?
When I first saw it, I assumed it was a "nut" face
Every time I see the Sympathy rating I think of this vid:

I mostly agree but I feel like Lucky covers a different niche than Optimistic. Like I guess Lucky can be a sarcastic "good luck" but it's funny to use optimistic to diss people who have unreasonably high hopes and also for rating dick jokes in LMAO pics
I have no idea what does big woop mean either and I ended up relating it to the "the joke - your head" expression. ("It flew over your head.")
Don't you dare remove Child Molester. There's no better feeling than hitting posters you don't like with that moustache man emoji.
I think another thing making ratings lose meaning is the fact that you don't get the "x1 rating" bit that specifically puts a name to the rating anymore. Yeah it still exists when you're about to rate someone, but because it's not explicitly shown on the post itself, the icon becomes the only thing that carries meaning. It works for simple ratings like agree and disagree, but then you get to shit like the sympathy rating, where it just looks like you're saying the post made you nut until you actually mouse over the list and see what it really means.
You could probably argue that it's something we'll get used to over time, same as how we got used to boxes being dumb, but then there's the issue of things being confusing for new people.
Would also like a dropbox to see who rated what, though I expect that to come with time anyway.
I mean you can't really get any farther away from an original meaning than box for dumb, I don't know why sympathy gets so much hate lol. If new people cbf'd to hover their mouse over a rating icon to see what it is then I think it's probably more of an issue with them than anything else.
That already exists though? You just have to click on the rating.
The problem with sympathy is that the icon doesn't convey its meaning very well - if at all - and that it overlaps heavily with Love and Cute.
Could be an extension that messes it up (NoScript, UMatrix, etc.)? The click event is handled through JavaScript from what I can tell.
Are you clicking on the icon or the rating number? I just tested it and it seems you have to click the number for it show up.
