You're all wrong. The only acceptable porn is audio description. http://www.acb.org/adp/samples/FredBrack.wav
Enforced by a little square next to a "yes I'm over 18 years old" and a trust system where you can feely input any value by yourself. Age verification via dropdowns are very generous about limiting ranges and always thinks in everyone, makes men of 297 years old like me be accepted.
I don't think Porn threads should belong in Fast Threads. First because they usually stay a while and can be active, which doesn't fit "Fast", but mostly because Fast Threads is one of the crossroad subforums on FP. You don't want people to associate FP with porn? Then don't put the porn where newcomers usually end up. I really liked the idea of an NSFW sub-forum with a small admission price. And since it's what people probably want, I thought we could have a sub-sub-forum in there called "Questionable Porn" for the 'less accepted' (though not illegal) porn, meaning for instance, Furry Porn since obviously even Moderators have a problem with it. That "Questionable Porn" would have another, higher admission fee. That way, people who want "vanilla" porn and NSFW-related stuff get it and it's not in a way where it could influence the forums' reputation. And people who don't want "fetishist" porn can just ignore the Questionable Porn sub-forum. I know you may be thinking that such a subforum enables people to post even more deviant stuff, but I'd expect it to be just as moderated as it deserves to be. Also if we don't get a "NSFW LMAO Pics" thread that's like 90% Oglaf, I'll be disappointed.
This is a great idea, actually.
I don't like the idea of a paywall because it gives out the idea that the porn on FP is so good it's worth money. Though if people can still get Gold without donating, I guess that's acceptable.
im crying. we are gonna be poor. oh fuck oh fuck i need to email garry and demand a refund.
Honestly if garry isn't embarassed by deviant porn on his game studio's community forums I don't see why anyone else even cares.
Exactly. If it's obviously marked beforehand and I can knowingly choose not to view it, it's fine.
tbh the facepunch community is way too familiar with eachother in certain threads and forums so I'd find it super weird to be sharing porn with you guys. But it's like tapejob said, if a porn subforum hanging around the front page isn't a big deal to anyone but certain users, why not just allow everyone else to access it. It's not like those bothered would ever be compelled to visit that subforum, and wouldn't it technically clear out some of the weirder threads that pop up around fast threads?
It made sense to hide it back when the general audience of facepunch was young, but we've all become old and decrepid so I think it's about time we had a seperate section for some boobs & dickage.
Hello recap of last night for the change for NSFW threads: no one is allowed to post embed images of NSFW, only to be linked. Making self and normal modding easier for everyone. Only SFW images can be displayed normally. The entire idea was changing the context of these threads from porn dump wank banks to appreciation of content, which brings in people that care about the content/thread instead of weirdos. Since it's implied this is a +18 forum in general - marked as +18 content - with NSFW content being hidden and lastly their context: If you don't like them you must either be a child or prude at this point tbh.
I'm really indifferent towards NSFW content so long as it's linked to rather than tagged if outside of threads that are made purposely for it, relevant to the topic at hand. Eg Oglaf in LMAO pics, it's a webcomic containing gore and nudity which people might not want to see without soliciting it, but it usually uses that gore and/or nudity as comedic devices hence its relevance.
just put it all in the oify tbh
I think this is a good compromise, no complaints.
The reason that there isn't any is because there's no place for it. I believe the demand is there (i mean, look at this thread) but there is no medium. I honestly don't care, Facepunch doesn't need an NSFW section. Not saying that it shouldn't have one, but it's still the upper's decision.
I prefer the ratings or posts to coins option for payment for gold. Otherwise you'll just have a bunch of golds that are people that have no other use of the forum rather than a source for pornography. Better to have loyal dedicated members.
I think a way to blur an image would be neat. So whe you hover over it the blur goes away and you can fully see the image. It would beat having to click a bunch of links. Something like a spoiler tag but for images.
IIRC this was on oldpunch temporarily, you could do [spoiler2][/spoiler2] and it would blur anything in between, like the current spoiler setting.
Why not just do that for threads with the NSFW icon? Would have the exact same effect in the end.
Yeah, the NSFW icon could be a hyper-realistic titty.
Honesty though, the thread was titled Furry and Anime Porn so you know what you are getting into when you click on that.
I really think most of the problems would be solved if you just made a NSFW subforum.
I fear for my avatar's safety.
Or if people simply didn't click on threads they don't want to see the contents of.
Not everyone wants the Furry Porn Thread floating in front of their face whether they look in it or not. If people want to look at that shit fine, keep it tucked away in the corner though.
Why, does merely seeing the word "furry porn" trigger you? Would you be fine with the thread being around if the title was some euphemism instead?
its not even porn anymore lol it's mostly sfw with linked porn, how is that not enough until we're able to see what happens with custom forums or a subforum
You'll statistically see more furry related porn in LMAO pics than anywhere else on the forum, that is not a joke.
Not everyone wants to see OIFY or LMAO pics threads floating in their faces.
That sounds more like a clickable bar problem in general than a thread visibility problem.
