I stand by what I said. They're borderline.
I don’t think it really needs to be said why even a borderline NSFW image of an underage child is not ok...like what the hell man.
yeah imo borderline avatars shouldn't be allowed either
At the most I think there shouldn't be anybody going past the level of something like trafficman's avatar
Well, dorkster has already weighed in on the situation so you all can continue to shit on me but it ain't gonna do you much good.
And just for completeness sake; The results of the votes after running for almost a week-ish in some pie charts.
Because everyone loves a good pie~! Especially two!
Question 1 - Clicky
Should Facepunch allow threads dedicated to suggestive or explicit material?

Question 2 - Clicky
Explicit avatars/backgrounds are of course not allowed.
But should users be allowed to use suggestive images in their avatar/background?

It goes without saying that these polls are indicative only and are not leading in any way, shape, or form.
Any decisions considering the rules are up to the mods' discretion.
If you consider loli almost-porn "borderline" NSFW, you're a bit off your rocker, mate.
If crapt says the mods aren't gonna do anything about this, fair enough, but I find it weird that we have supposedly "NSFW" threads, where the pictures posted are supposedly not any more explicit (no nudity) than what can be seen on every page of this forum if you look at little to your left. Are the NSFW threads NSFW because people post links to nudity?
Actually I like NSFW stuff. But it should be left to members who have a certain number of posts and or a certain level. And it must remain a secret from when the area is unlocked. (At least here in the forum, if you tell a buddy it's something else now)
That way you can prevent people from posting any forbidden NSFW crap.
Yes. This was all explained in this very thread, multiple times.
Why are you trying to make this thread into a loli discussion over a single picture you posted, this thread is about suggestive/explicit things in general. Trying to mangle the discussion with loli content and warping everyones statements into support of that material doesn't contribute to solving the issue at hand.
But just to make sure you understand: I don't care for loli pictures, including the one you posted. But I am pretty sure most people here are voicing their support for suggestive/explicit content in general, so please stop accusing everyone of supporting your loli fetish.
It's a completely valid concern though, if content like what he referred to is allowed, then that allows for people to use backgrounds that might be even more questionable but as long as they don't show uncovered genitals then they must be okay to use!!
Also I really don't understand it when you say "Why are you trying to make this thread into a loli discussion", "Trying to mangle the discussion with loli content", " I don't care for loli pictures, including the one you posted" and "so please stop accusing everyone of supporting your loli fetish". To me it just seems like you're trying to alienate him when he brought up the picture simply to ask if that sort of shit is deemed acceptable here.
Let me ask you something; Did you read his post at all, or did you only look at the picture he quoted as an example, and then thought he is defending it?
i'm really trying to figure out if this was meant to be directed at chunkymonkey because in context it seems like you're accusing godong of being into loli??
It is a valid concern, but this thread is primarily a discussion about explicit content on the forums, then about explicit content in backgrounds/avatars, loli or whatever else is a subissue that should be hashed out on it's own. I'm not trying to alienate him, he just seems to think everyone in this thread that doesn't want questionable content banned from the forums is specifically rallying for loli content.
It's a sarcastic comment about him seemingly trying to make everything in this thread about his excessive dislike for loli, playing on the common psychological phenomenon that people that are against something the loudest are actually trying to hide their own obsession with it.
Iunno about you, but in my eyes profile backgrounds are a part of the forum content
Also on a less important note, please stop saying the word "loli" several times per post, the problem isn't just about loli being used in profile card backgrounds - it's all borderline NSFW content being used in them.
Sure, but Avatars/Backgrounds not allowing questionable content doesn't mean we should ban it on the forum as a whole. Banning loli from the forums in turn doesn't mean questionable content in general should be banned as well. In my opinion these are all seperate issues and shouldn not be lobbed in together.
I'm only talking about loli because GoDong keeps bringing it up and pretending like questionable content/NSFW/explicit material/whatever is the equivalent, which it most definitely isn't.
Should we make a separate threads to discuss loli?
What makes my dislike for loli "excessive"? What's a reasonable amount of dislike for loli?
I honestly don't know why you think I'm talking about banning NSFW on the forum as a whole - I've only been discussing NSFW backgrounds/avatars since it was brought up. The NSFW threads stuff has already been settled. Read my posts again if you're still confused.
NSFW content in threads is a resolved issue already, why do you not want the issue of BG/avatars to be discussed as well?
Because Dorkster already settled the issue? What's there left to discuss? Or do the people still upset not consider this to be a closed issue until the mods decision has been enforced?
-----------------------------------------
Well according to the 'poll' a majority of people don't mind "suggestive" backgrounds. I'd say that the examples GoDong posted definitely fall into the "suggestive" category as it is described on the polls original post.
the fact that the topic surrounding loli is even a topic is pretty absurd considering it's a given it should remain banned due to it's inconsistent legality between countries
.... Uhh you're using two 500 year old loli vampires as your background. I assume you're talking about in a suggestive or explicit context.
Loli lovers go to jail immediately we don't want you here.
well yeah, when people say loli I think of it in a sexual context, so I'm always caught off guard when people use it to define young characters in general
obviously it'd be suggestive/explicit context because as far as i'm aware, it's not illegal in any country to just glance at a child when walking down the street
I just wanted to make sure you clarified your position, I didn't want people putting words in your mouth or jumping to conclusions on ya.
if the woman in your background or avatar isn't in full burqas, then its automatically suggestive and you go to jail to rot
I am currently discussing this with the Moderators.
If it is approved, it will be in a subforum dedicated to NSFW material.
It will have a description for "over 18s only" to make it clear that the material is not for young people.
It will likely be closed, so that only people with a certain forum level can post. This is to reduce risk and stop throwaway accounts from being able to view / post.
No images or video will be allowed to be uploaded to or hosted by our forums, it will be hotlinks only.
We will require a number of trusted individuals who will be entrusted with reporting any misconduct. They will not be moderators.
Could you add an option in preferences (on by default) to have the NSFW forum hidden?
What's wrong with the current implementation?
are you gonna move relevant threads over to schindler's fist now?
No. I can't code for shit.
