Under the rules that were imposed 20 minutes ago and used, so far, only against the F&A thread despite people in that thread asking mods to edit the OP so they could follow said rules before they were even made up, I wouldn't be surprised.

I find the claim that the Hot Girls thread has "strict rules" to be eyebrow raising. The Hot Girls thread doesn't even have strict rules imo, it only has two of them: No posting people used the age of 18 sex and penetration is allowed I dunno about anyone else but that seems pretty wide open to me, not that I'm complaining. The thread has been around for 4 years with zero issues. How are we defining "strict rules"?

Like I said, I wouldn't be surprised because the moderators still pick and choose what to enforce at this point. This was my original complaint in the new rules thread and its been pretty much been gilded gold and welded to a plaque.

I feel like the audience that simply wants to look at "hot girls" is significantly less likely to post really weird legally grey shit than anime and furry threads and thus require less rules

yet again ignoring that the thread was self-policing and had no current issues

i mean i asked if we should separate them twice and a lot agreed I like what I made everyone change their minds i was like ok nuke it I wanted to see how it would work out before I started to do anything with it

dude if you're looking for rules that are logically derived from some set of strictly defined moral axioms FP is not the place to be the only real rule here is "eh yeah sure that sounds pretty funny"

Your point being? The thread managed to maintain what effectively amounted to a strict rules list without even having control over the OP. If the thread did have control over the OP, there would be literally 0 perceived issue.

Considering I had to argue with someone in the furry/anime porn thread who literally posted "Here's a picture of someone who may or may not be under the age of consent" and then someone defended it by saying "The author made it after themselves and that's just their body type" idk about that, but the potential for weird shit is clearly less in one thread than the other

Well, if you'll look back at that post, that person got yelled at collectively by every person in the thread and then they were banned and called a retard.

Unfortunately, and I don't mean to be rude, you half-assed it and as such doomed it from the start. You needed to give people a good reason to switch and a quality OP would have helped.

A quality OP is probably like, the single most important thing.

I see no reason why a furry thread can't exist if it followed the same rules as the current catgirl/illustrated girls thread and was self regulating.

I had avatars disabled on the old forums but would it be possible to have something akin to the ignore user feature except it just blocks their avatar?

it was first thing I did when I woke up so ya i mean that thread was made as a joke in the first place i wanted to make something more legitimate

For whatever reason, you won't be able to. I think that we all wanted a more serious thread with a more rigorous set of rules but for whatever reason that isn't going to happen.

You could disable all avatars/backgrounds by default via CSS if you wanted

For now read Catgirl / Illustrated girl OPs tl;dr: NSFW threads will soon not allow image tagging for NSFW imagery, so you'll just link them. SFW images are ok. Threads that fail to self moderate their content get closed.
