Maybe, But for me its kinda out-of-place for them in this setting.
But ever since I discovered Biopunk (Cyberpunk but 95-100% organic biotechnology and electronic-less) genre while ago and adding Sci-fi Body Horror elements like Splicers from Batman Beyond (which itself old-school (and 90s) Cyberpunk). Feel more make sense.

The thought of Piemations drawing furry porn is extremely funny to me. As soon as I spotted furry dudes cropping up in his Twitter I knew he was going down that route, but I didn't think he'd actually draw porn.
Well, Your opinion but for me (if future favors Biopunk-like aesthetic) it's biomodding (biohacking) to become an real-life anthropomorphic-animal through using mostly Genetic engineering with Nanotechnology keep white blood cells attacking that see it 'dangerous' foreign artificially modified DNA.
flesh is weak, I don't care about being a furry irl, I can look like a wheelie bin with arms if it means I can be free of disease and live forever
I would rather die than look uncool forever
But being cyborg (if Cyberfurry or not) also having it's flaws like basic being rusted away or becoming hydrophobic if you want your body is classical metal without making body water-proof.
