Fair enough, I have to confess that I'm just annoyed threads keep slipping out of the video subforum script because they aren't properly tagged but maybe I can bother the creator to add "trailer" as another keyword. God damn tho how hard is it to just add "video" to a title, people!?
@Jacketto what did i just say
@kmlkmljkl wait a sec are you that youtube shitposter
@TransplantedHead Thanks for the diamond?
@Nachy im good, a bit bored. how's yours?

hey @Helix Snake I remember you doing some cool Unity stuff a while ago, I've been wanting to try it out forever but always get stuck at the very beginning. Do you have any recommendations for super quick overviews/tutorials describing what needs to happen for a game to exist? All I come across is admittedly very informative tutorials, but I always lose motivation before it gets through explaining what an x axis is. I know what an x axis is.
@Oast I took classes on it in college. Never was one for following video tutorials, always preferred text and image tutorials. The only things you really need for anything resembling a game is 1. how to get input (the answer to this is using the Input class) and 2. how to make things move (you can either use the built in character controller, or if you want to do it yourself, use a rigidbody and use ApplyForce). The thing I was doing in my Unity livestreams is really difficult stuff involving complex programming and physics/math stuff, not recommended for beginners. How well do you know the C# language? If you're just starting out in coding then Unity is going to be very tricky and it will be best starting very simple, try to make a ball that you can control with the arrow keys using a fixed camera. What exactly are you getting stuck on? The path to making the most simple interactive thing is not long and I can answer any questions you're struggling with.

Thanks, even that tip is hugely helpful! I know a good amount of technical stuff, I think the part I'm stuck on is the new set of tools and terms to wrap my head around. I just end up staring at all the menus not sure what to add first, forgetting that I'm looking at the asset vs the object in the scene etc.
Thanks. The two others who were just behind me nuked their accounts AFAIK. I'll be around until I drop or the forum shuts down.
@Mattk50 Thanks for your response in the Denuvo thread. You bring up good points but I don't think we're going to fundamentally agree with each other. I also feel like I am biased in this discussion because I am a game developer myself, and deal with piracy as (perceived) problem directly. I'd type out a longer reply in the thread itself - but quite frankly I'm going to take a break from arguing since it stresses me out and gets me riled up, which leads to making myself look dumb and getting banned. Just wanted to let you know that I appreciate the effort you put into your posts, and that I've read your response.
@Natrox understandable, it's nice to know someone read all that. Thinking about it i don't think i stressed the "base case" enough, that devs do need to get funding to continue working. Generally pirating smaller indie studio games who don't neccisarrily have that funding, especially when they mostly release DRM free even on steam with no unreasonable barriers, (if you have the money for it) means they're less likely to have the ability to create those games and then crosses the line to unethical. Most of what i was saying applies more to bigger corporate studios where funding is more than guaranteed even for "failures" like BFV and other huge games that make lots of profits, but simply don't hit growth targets. In those situations profits are usually also funneled away from supporting the actual studio. Anyways thanks for discussing it with me in the thread as far as we got.
@stupid07er Hey man if you wanted some more fun Phish tracks here's a couple live ones: My Soul, Wilson (this particular version has a really fun take on the portion of the song where it breaks down before coming back hard with a BLAT! BOOM!), Say it to me S.A.N.T.O.S. (featuring bassist Mike Gordon and guitarist Trey Anastasio floating off the stage). And here's a few that are good springboards onto their more jammy stuff: Down with Disease, Bathtub Gin Phish is a really fun band to explore if you're really curious - there's three "eras," with Phish 1.0 being their early college/bar band stuff, 2.0 being their national touring stage in the 90's, and 3.0 being them ever since they got back together in 2009. Each era has their own unique sound and you'll probably find one you prefer. 2.0 is my favorite for jams, but 3.0 is my favorite for live shows and stage presence.
@Daviddv0601 rip them from here: https://gamebanana.com/skins/134449 I don't know how their bone structure has been fucked with but it'll probably be passable for SFM use.
@seano12 smoke my pole pickle ass boy
@Flak Hello! I think there has been a missunderstanding, and a LEGO general thread made by me has been moved to Videos subforum, which is incorrect. I wasnt sure where to contact you!
No idea how I did that but it's fixed now.
Thanks a bunch! It may have been becouse some of the first posts in the thread were videos about new Themes, sets etc. Thanks for working quick and fixing it!
@Qbe-tex It’s nothing personal mate, but I just don’t think your another background is great.
@AtomicSans please have a good day today!
Okay, I'll try my best! Why'd you hit me up though?
Random acts, I related to some of your posts from the news thread a few days ago about the effects of stress on brain aging and you seem like a generally nice poster, so I wanted to throw a little positive confetti!
oh, I see. thank you, I really appreciate it
